Free Nigerian Seminary is Available!

A Free Nigerian Seminary is available for Nigerians and others in Africa and all over the world. This free Nigerian seminary may be just right for you. Utilize the gifts God has given you to reach people through Christ.

What type of Christian leader may benefit from such an opportunity?

Free Nigerian Seminary

I was born into a Christian family in Yobe state, Nigeria on 25th October 1993.

I gave my life to Christ in 2011, and got baptised that same year. I learned about walking with God, being born again, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and the importance of living a holy life. However, I wasn’t doing what I had been taught until Boko Haram insurgents came and attacked our state. I travelled out to Jos, Plateau State, where I both pondered, and came to know about my real purpose. This is where I started to experience who God is and what He wants me to do… I then began exploring His Word.

My call to be a minister was back in 2006/2007 when God spoke to me through dreams, visions, people I would find myself around, and occurrences. However, at that point in time I was so young, and I was not trained on how to listen to God, and how to go about being a trained minister until a friend, Anjili Maidawa, told me about Christian Leaders Institute and the free courses offered. I enrolled and am richly blessed to get what I’ve been looking for – and to know about my calling and Spiritual life.

This led me into children ministry, my church, and using my social media as a medium for ministry and evangelism.
Christian Leaders Institute has done great and marvellous things in my life as a young person and minister. I’ve been taught and trained many things I didn’t previously know. As someone once said, and I conquer, “I have been exposed to life and eternity through Jesus Christ. Evangelism, meaning of doctrine, pastoral care, holiness, and importance and presence of the Holy Spirit in a Christian life”.

Thank God for CLI and its sponsors. I pray that God should replenish and continue to bless you all.

Discipleship and Evangelism – Sunday’s Story

CLI student Sunday Mundi had a dream that he would be called to preach the word of God. He enrolled at CLI to recieve the education he needs to do this effectively and without financial obligation. Here is his story…

Discipleship and Evangelism – Sunday’s Story

My name is Sunday Samuel Mundi, Nigeria,West Africa; In the 2005 after I gave my life to Christ in program that a film pilgrims progress was shown and alter call was made by missionaries from the US,i had an unusual experience when I was on my bed sleeping I dreamt that Jesus came to me ask my sister and told me that He will come for me oh! That was so scary cause I was thinking its death or rapture but alas i had another vision he came and told me that he has call me to preach with sign following, then we began a Street Evangelism and so many came to his saving grace, proceed to hospital evangelism as patient receive Jesus, healing leaving the wards empty,we continue from one village to another, which was very effective,as of the time of this report I have Muslim converts of about fifteen in number serving God to a high capacity, except one that was desperate about marriage got into the hand of a Muslim man but because we had no much time to follow her up she went back in which one of the challenges we are facing is there is no much funding for followup, discipleship and evangelism from place to place.we are planning to acquire a place for training outside the fierce settlement of the unbelievers cause they fight those that gives their lives to Jesus,my family have been of encouragement time to time they visit consistently especially my elder brother ,after the visitation of Jesus I have always had dreams of preaching Jesus to a great extent, please pray that God give more convert to us as we go out to preach Jesus as I believe strongly that this scholarship will be given to me.

Nigerian Ordination Story – Abutu Onche Simon Umoru

Nigerian Ordination Story

My name is Abutu Onche Simon Umoru. I was born in 1976 as a Nigerian, brought up in the Northern part of the country, in the Army barracks where my father was serving the Nigerian Army. I grew up in a home with eight children. During my secondary School days, I developed a desire to serve God even as a Catholic, I use to fellowship with other denomination outside our church. As we share the gospel together with the brethren from other denomination, I discovered that there is a vacuum in me that needed to be filled. My life was changed completely in 1994 when I surrendered to Christ and decided to make Him my personal Lord and Savior.

I completed my higher national diploma in management from the Benue State Polytechnic by 2006, after my father’s retirement from active service. Am married to Mary, a caring wife since 2010 and the Lord has blessed our union with two boys. Presently we live in Otukpa, Benue State Nigeria. We fellowship with a church called “The Established Pentecostal Church of Christ”.

In Benue state, we Have lots of Churches. As the middle belt of the country, doing ministry here requires patience and commitment. This end time you see many people attending and bearing denominational names without bearing the fruits of genuine repentance. In my place, people belong to one church or the other, though crime and lawlessness are on the increase. About 40% of the people living in my locality are literate while most of the illiterate ones live in rural areas, since they can not read and write, it makes a rural work more tedious since one will need to adopt the people by using their language to present the gospel to them.

CLI has been a blessing to me; I have obtained a diploma of ministry through there support. I will ever live to appreciate the impact of some of the professors especially my mentor professor Henry Reyenga Jr. There good tutelage has been of tremendous blessing. My learning experience with CLI has been inspiring. Initially, I intended to take only the getting started class. I discovered more of the grace of God shed on my ministerial callings as I delve into Further studies with CLI. My life and ministry is been greatly transformed by some of these courses like the: Church History, sermon construction and presentation, Church Planting, People Smart for ministry, Christian Ethics ,Exegesis, among others. My passion for the presentation of the Gospel has been raised to a level that nothing matters to me like the Gospel. Am now well equipped to present the Gospel at every slight opportunity, care for the members of the fold in my own way as the spirit directs.

Nigerian Ordination through  CLI

At ordination, I believe the grace of God will help me to harness all my potentials to fulfill my ministry goals. I have passion for youth evangelism, rural outreaches, Missions and Church administration. Currently, my wife and I are assisting in the work of the gospel in a branch of our church in Otukpa a village in Benue State. As a bi-vocational minister, I feel the ordination will launch me into full commitment to the work as an associate pastor in our church and my wife will be assisting in the musical department.

My ordination will brighten up the future of my calling; I feel the urgent need to present the undiluted word of God to the people of my generation. Like brother Jude said in Jude 3, that we should earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints.
I identify with the word Pastor because it is my earnest desire to know people, preach to and teach them the principles of the kingdom that will help them to grow into the fullness of Christ.

Our local Church has been very supportive. The state overseer have been backing us with prayers and giving other necessary guidance during my studies. The church also requested that we share our visions with the senior pastors so that they can pray along with us and serve as mentors to aid effectiveness in our area of calling. I have been requested to forward my certificate to serve the Church after my training and ordination as a pastor.
Please pray that God will release His grace on me abundantly so that, I will be effective in the ministry. That the entire future ministry goal God lay in my heart will find expression as I live to fulfill His mandate alone.

Equipped For Ministry – Olagbaju’s Story

Olagbaju OLushola from Nigeria enrolled at Christian Leaders Institute because he could not afford a traditional Ministry Education through a Seminary, and takes free online courses at CLI to become Equipped For Ministry! Here is his story…

Equipped For Ministry – Olagbaju’s Story

My name is Olagbaju OLushola husband, with a son. My wife and I live most of the year in a community outskirt of Lagos, Alimosho in Nigeria I live in South Africa And Ghana where I was involved in several charitable Gospel outreach.
Ministry in my country Nigeria is doing very great God is recruiting His generals on a daily bases we give all the glory for all. Lives are transformed souls are won into his kingdom though there are challenges of on field mission work to the outermost interior due to financial challenges to send and sustain volunteers.
My relationship with the Bible and God has not always been as strong as it is now. In my journey through in till this day I have always wanted to live a life to serve in every capacity I find myself. I began my childhood life in a suburb known as Surulere in Lagos, Nigeria. My life as teenager was good but not the best, though I enjoyed every bit of it, my parents were just a nominal Christians who just attend church services but not rooted in Christ Jesus at that time. As I grew up in my twenties I became weak a worried I got exposed to some things dangerous to my life physically and spiritually though I knew about Christ then but I was not born again. Although within me I had always heard a voice in-depth convicting me to stop and turn back. I have always believed in God even during the time of not being a Christian, though this was hard without the Lord and my savior Christ
In God`s story I fit in this present Church dispensation and believes that Christ lives within me, also that I have a mandate to let the Christ in me the hope of glory to shine to others Colossians 1:17b. According to His word in John 5:5 and in verse 15 “He calls us His friend and verse 16” He made it cleared we never chose him but he chose us in order to bare fruits and that our fruits should abide”. He also called us “the light of the world a city that is set on a hill that cannot be hide” and also in Romans 8:19,as the children of light we must shine like our father (God) because Christ saved us in order to save others.
I am identified with the word name during my stay in abroad but presently at home here I am currently the Youth Pastor of my local church and also the choir coordinator
. My key experience in life that prompted me to pursue ministry was back in the days when I was in the college that I firs gave my live to Christ the spirit of God convicted me to develop myself that he will use me more in the teaching ministry more but I should start with what I have at that time which was passion to help people
Some of the unique challenge in my area is fund to establish and grow local church in the interior part
They have supported in terms of counsel, advise and trainings too.
Scholarship at CLI is so important to me to it because of my passion to grow and equip myself in the ministry which has very difficult for me access due to financial constrain most time. I will appreciate if I considered for a place in the scholarship scheme of CLI
My prayer God will give immeasurable grace and fill with his spirit and power to grow in all areas of my ministerial assignment not fail and falter so I will end well this Christian race to fulfill His mandate upon my life to the fullest.

Learn The Word of God – Emmanuel Farinu’s Story

Emmanuel utilizes Christian Leaders Institute’s free online courses to Learn the Word of God, and increase his understanding and abilities in ministry. Here is his story…

Learn The Word of God – Emmanuel Farinu’s Story

My name is Emmanuel Olusegun Farinu. I was born on the 16th March, 1959 in Ibadan, Oyo State, South Western part of Nigeria. My parents came from a Muslim family. Both of them (father and mother went to Mecca in 1981. They were very strong in Islamic Religion.
After my primary school education, I gained admission to Christ Apostolic Church Grammar Schoo in Ibadan in 1973, for my secondary education, where I was introduced to Join Scripture Union (an interdenominational Group) by a Christian Brother, Where I met Jesus Christ, gave my life to him and became born Christian again.
During this time, when my parents heard that I became a Christian, I faced a lot of persecution. I was hated, tortured, school fees not paid, money was not given to me but thank God with the help of Christian brothers, I was able to sail through my secondary school. I was baptised on the 16th July, 1978.
I thank God that since I became a Christian, I have never been disappointed. God has been faithful to me. He has kept me in faith up to this time.I am happily married to Elizabeth Adejoke Farina and blessed with four Children.
I am presently attending Christ Apostolic Church; I am a Pastor, Sunday School teacher, A chorister and Prayer Group Leader in the church.
In 1997, I was transferred from Lagos to Abuja, one night, I was seriously sick, I could not raise my bands and legs, after praying to God, God answered and spoke to me that I should come out that night and preached the gospel. Immediately I yielded to the call, preached the gospel that night, the sickness disappeared.
The second day I narrated what happened to one of the bishops at Breakthrough Family Church in Abuja. We prayed together that day and anointed me with oil and ordained me as pastor.
My mission is to preach the gospel to those that have not heard the word and to encourage those that know God, to continue in the faith.
My prayer is that God should continue to use me for his work and also draw me closer to him everyday.
The reason I took the curse with Christian Leaders Institute is to be deeper in the word of God. I have been looking for a place to get more knowledge and understanding on the word of God, thank God I browse through the internet and I saw the website of Christian Leaders Institute.
Getting scholarship with Christian Leaders Institute will help me acquire more knowledge and understanding the word of God.. May God continue to bless the children of God working with the Institute.
Thanks and God bless you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Nigeria Global Ministry Training – Oluwatosin’s Story

Oluwatosin receives free Nigeria global ministry training through Christian Leaders Institute! Here is Oluwatosin’s story..

Nigeria Global Ministry Training – Oluwatosin’s Story

Hello, my name is Oluwatosin Adeola from Nigeria, a father of two children (a boy and a girl) and husband to Katmaan for over six years. I was raised up as the third child in a family of seven (six boys and one girl) in Ekiti state, Nigeria, West Africa.
I live in Jos, north-central Nigeria where I have been involved in ministry to the lost, the sick and young believers since 2010. Being in ministry in this part of the country is quite challenging due to the low education level and a high level of tribalism that has made the people difficult to reach. But with the wisdom of God, we have been publishing newsletters and tracts that have made reaching the interiors possible.
I came to know the Lord at a tender age of 8, really I did not know much about God at this age, but I had this consciousness of God and His ever presence that I was always afraid to sin against Him. I grew up in this way and today my life has not remained the same.
In 2002, as a University student, I became aware that God was calling me into ministry and after days of seeking His face, I receive a mandate to teach people the way to serve God. Later in 2013, I was given another mandate to minister healing to the sick. These two areas have formed my ministry dream that am currently pursuing. I have ministered in a different capacity as a Pastor/Teacher, Youth leader, and church planter. But am being identified as a Pastor since my ordination in 2007 as a Youth Pastor and in 2009 as Assistant Pastor.
Before I receive the call into ministry, I have longed for a revival in the church. I have been heart-broken several times when I see Christians living a worldly life especially when Christians practice hypocrisy. I believe God gave me those passions before calling me. In the area of healing, I happen to be someone who relies on God for healing without drugs. For instance, I have not taken the antimalarial drug in the last 25 years and have been healed from malaria several times by believing the word.
Despite the valid call of God upon my life, I have not gotten enough support needed, but I praise God for the strength to continue. I have longed to have training from an international organization to boost my understanding.
Obtaining a scholarship from CLI will help fulfill my dream of adequate ministry training and enable effectiveness and establishment of a legacy that will transcend generations. My coming across CLI, I will say is a miracle and am willing to do my best to maximize it. God has called me into a global ministry and training at CLI will be a rare advantage to moving in this direction.
I desire prayer in the fulfillment of my ministry. Like Paul, that doors of opportunity will be opened in every place that God would have His word preached. And for helpers of destiny raised for the furtherance of His mission.

My Testimony!

I am BOLUTIFE Adeoluwa Kehinde (formerly OGUNDEYI Adeoluwa Kehinde). I was born on the 31st of March, 1981, in the city of Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, South Western Nigeria in the great continent of Africa. I am the last born in a family of 9. I have six siblings who are all married. I am single. I hold a B. Tech. in Computer Science from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, south western part of Nigeria. I began my walk with Christ around the age of 16, after a saving encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ during one of our weekly Bible studies at Deeper Life Bible Church. Thereafter I was baptized in water by immersion and immediately enrolled for follow-up classes-a training class for new converts. And since then, I have been following and growing in the faith of the Son of God.

After my conversion experience, I suddenly discovered a strange passion within me to get all men saved! I often questioned myself, “Why should anybody be lost when Christ had died?” I also had an unusual passion to see the sick get healed, and miracles take place, whenever I came across people in such needs. As I grew in faith I discovered that God had called me to be an evangelist. So right from my high school days on, I have been involved in preaching the gospel, especially in villages where the people are mostly idolaters. Although the part of the country where I live has much of the gospel presence as a result of missionary labour and church revival, many villages are still neck-deep in idolatrous practices. My ministry dream is to proclaim the gospel in places where it is needed, to gather souls into the Kingdom of Christ with great signs and wonders. I want God to use me as He used Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and Pastor W.F Kumuyi, in the proclamation of the gospel of Christ.

After my first degree, I signed up for the work of the gospel as I was convinced God would have me do. So I wrote a letter to my church for acceptance into full time ministry, but the leadership said there was no money for my financial support. But I told them that it is primarily not for money, but the fulfillment of the call of God on my life. Some family members and friends saw my decision as a strange one and tried to talk me out of it. However, a few friends and family members believed in me and promised to support me in their little way. So I have been involved in gospel works, doing the work of an evangelist both by personal involvement and in partnership with the body of Christ, to take the gospel to the villages. I also do this through Christian publications. And I hope one day I will take the gospel to the nations of the world, like Reinhard Bonnke, especially in nations where the gospel is presently being resisted.

My passion to obtain Christian training beyond church training has led me to apply for foreign Christian scholarship since I left the university. But all of my efforts have proved abortive! But now I thank my Lord Jesus for bringing me across CLI in my search for ministry training! What a wonderful experience going through the Christian Leaders Basics Certificate at no cost! May the Lord Bless this institution for this great offer! It is not common!

By the grace of God I believe this ministry training will be instrumental in making me an effective minister of Christ and an agent of revival in the Body of Christ and the world at large. The training will also help me in training others for the work of the ministry. Having a scholarship at Christian Leaders Institute will afford me the great privilege of having sound ministry training under seasoned Christian leaders at no cost! This I believe will transform me into an effective and more productive minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, in the face of growing philosophical arguments against the Bible. Do pray for me that God will continually fill me with His Holy Spirit and raise sponsors for me to spread the gospel.

Free Online Bible Training In Ministry With CLI

My ministry dream and goals is to restore the lost souls back to God and to give direction to the youth. To pastor and lead them in the fear of God and inculcate into them a life of integrity, standing for the truth always. The word of God has been the final authority over my life and the issues of life and this I must reproduce in others. Since I understood from the bible that for every challenge of life God has already made a way out of it and that He will not allow temptation that is beyond our ability to come our way.”     ~ Free Online Bible Training Student, Adeshola Adeyemo

FROM STORY TO GLORY- Meet CLI Student Preparing With Our Free Online ******* Bible Training *******

Adeshola Adeyemo is my name. I was born and brought up in Lagos, Nigeria where I completed my primary and secondary education before leaving for my degree in the eastern part of my country. I am the third child of eleven. Ours was a Muslim family until my father met Jesus through a health challenge and since we were young then we have to follow him to his new found faith and as a child I was just following my parents to church to fulfill all righteousness.

I am married to a lovely wife and God blessed us with a daughter and three sons. I reside in the city of Warri in Delta State, Nigeria with my family. I am a teacher by profession and teach in a Christian school where I am a role model to my students, because I understood that the Christ we proclaim must first of all be seen in us before we can be able to effectively talk about Him to these students. Students learn more by what they see than what they hear. By the help of the Holy Spirit we have been nurturing them in the fear of God, all the glory to the Lord.

By God’s grace I met the Lord personally in 1993 when I was in the college and my lifestyle changed totally. I became so calm, gentle and above all, I began to enjoy the peace of the Lord. It was the beginning of a new life for me and my hunger to know Christ continues to grow. The doctrine of the church where I gave my life focused more on the punishment rather than the blessings of God. And this portrays God differently from my understanding of Him from my Bible which aroused a desire in me for a search for a church where the word of God is preached wholly and truly. This was a bit difficult since I was still living with my parents, but I was divinely directed by the Holy Spirit in 1999 to the assembly where I worship now and when I got there I knew that is where God wanted me to be.

Though I accepted the Lord in the year 1993, I rededicated my life to Him in 2002 and by His grace He has been helping me to walk with Him. I have attended series of Bible Schools organized by my church and learned more about God and my understanding of the word has been increasing day by day. The biblical teaching during services has been of great help in building my faith in God and putting my trust absolutely in Him because I know He will never share His glory with any man.

God has been confirming His word in my life, He has given me great testimonies and I am a living proof of His awesome wonders. He has saved my soul from untimely death, terrible health challenges, and strange attacks from the pit of hell; indeed He has turned me to a wonder. I can never appreciate His wondrous work upon my life enough. The only true God is a good God.

It is a great opportunity to have free online Bible training with CLI to equip me more for God’s assignment for my life. I have been exposed to new things about the Bible, Essence of Creation, God, Doctrines and Beliefs, Issues on Marriage, the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, Christian Living, Leadership at home and in ministry, Relating with people, etc. and above all how not to concentrate on the differences in doctrines or beliefs but rely and focus on the truth of the word of God. It is really the act of God for me to have come in contact with CLI’s free online Bible training at a time like this. I can’t appreciate God enough for Christian Leaders Institute because this free online Bible training is going to help me to effectively and efficiently serve God in all ramifications.

My prayer is that God should en-grace me to keep focus on His purpose for my life and that I should continually bring glory and honor to His mighty name for the rest of my life. God should also release His Holy Spirit afresh on me and make me sensitive to the leading of His Spirit to be able to fulfill His purpose for my existence through continuous obedience to His divine leading.

Nigerian Man Called to Minister Gets Free Online Training

Christian Leaders Institute even brings quality free online ministry training to residents in destitute Nigerian areas. Emmanuel Odok is grateful for finding CLI and the free Bible based courses offered. The following is his story that ultimately brought him to seek training at Christian Leaders Institute.

My name is Emmanuel Odok and I live in the Nigerian city of Calabar, Cross River State. Located in West Africa this is one of many impoverished areas in this country. In this Nigerian area God has been helping us to propagate the Good news of the Kingdom. We are faced with many difficult challenges. Poor road networks and lack of maintenance make travel difficult. We are also hindered by an inadequate supply of electricity for the community. Many residents have no electricity at all. There is a severe lack of funding to build and equip worship centers and organize outreach programs.

God has blessed Nigeria with a fertile land for Ministry to thrive but recently, … ‘the “Gates of Hell” have opened into our areas and they are known as “Boko Haram”. Their aim is to hinder the advancement of God’s Kingdom in Northern Nigeria using nearly any way possible.

The group exerts influence in the northeastern Nigerian states of BornoAdamawaKadunaBauchiYobe and Kano. In this region, a state of emergency has been declared…
You can only imagine the conditions this Christian Leaders Institute student has to survive every day. It is people like Emmanuel and others living in fearful situations who can certainly benefit from free ministry training online through CLI.

I knew the Lord through my mother; now deceased; as a child in the early eighties. When my mother experienced the hand of God upon her life in which she was healed of physical issues she made sure we all converted from the Catholic Church to The Pentecostal of Nigeria Inc. I backslid when I was in high school and stopped going to Church. Sundays were seen as conducive for playing football and fishing.
I left the village and moved to Calabar, the state Capital, after high school. The Lord saw me restored to his sheepfold in December, 1996. In February of 1997 I presented myself for baptism, having resolved to serve Jesus in Spirit and truth.

I desire to empower God’s children to discover who they are in Christ; to appreciate and appropriate their God-given potentials and to live for him daily. I identify most with the word Evangelist firstly, because as Christians we should evangelize the world for Christ. Secondly, one of the things I have enjoyed doing since I was in school is to evangelize. I order tracts from the USA and distribute them as I witness.

God has been faithful to me and my family; both local and extended. We have enjoyed His providence, guidance and protection. I wouldn’t say there is a particular experience that prompted me to pursue Ministry training here in Nigeria. However, what I do know is that I have the calling. I enjoy ministering and having experienced spiritual rebirth. This gave me a yearning to bring the lost to God.

My local Church has really encouraged my ministering. They have given me the platform to operate as a Sunday school teacher since 1998. I also teach Bible Study classes and preach on Sunday services.

My wife, Rosemary is God-sent and indeed a bundle of encouragement. Whether there is enough or not, she doesn’t complain. She’s learned to survive in abundance as well as in lack. Several times I have had to leave her alone with our young son and little or no money for days, so I could attend to the needs of the General Overseer of my church. Bishop Effiong Efiom ministers outside our town of Calabar often and I assist him. This I do trusting God to supply my family as I seek Him first in my service. My mother, of blessed memory, and my siblings have always given me encouragement as well as advice to keep pressing on. They often call me Pastor, Evangelist and other titles. This challenges as well as encourages me to do more for the Lord.

Discovering Christian Leaders Institute is indeed a turning point in my life. I have longed for leadership training in the same way the deer pants for the water in a brook. In 2001, God enabled me to satisfy one of my dreams which was to acquire myself a “better” Bible. I stumbled on an NIV study Bible at the rate of ₦2,500. (₦ is the symbol for the Nigerian currency Naira. ₦2,500 is approximately equal to $15.53 USD.) This amount was 83.33% of my two months allowances as an industrial attaché at PPMC. PPMC is a subsidiary of NNPC, located at Calabar depot. (PPMC is Pipelines And Products Marketing Company, Ltd. of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.)

In 2003, God brought Pastor David Feddes my way via “The Back to God Hour”. Through his radio program he was able to answer many of my Bible related questions. He remains one of the best Pastors I have ever met. I have read most of his publications which have been great benefit to me. Through Pastor David Feddes, I was also able to pursue a correspondence bible course called “Great truths of the Bible”. This was through Cross Roads Bible Institute, Chicago IL.
Christian Leaders Institute will no doubt help me with my dream of becoming an adequately furnished Christian Leader. I desire to bring others the truth of The Gospel Of Jesus Christ in the right ways.
Just as Apollos, who had zeal but knew only the baptism of John, was adequately furnished by Aquila and Priscilla; there are many areas in my Ministry that CLI will help equip me for.

Pray that God, who has called me into Ministry, may do everything in His power to make me faithful and fruitful.

Great Grace

Pastor Barnabas McClint-Owei Ebiede – Nigeria

I was born 30th April 1981 in the beautiful city of Port Harcourt in Nigeria. Nigeria is a beautiful place to do Ministry as the laws allow freedom of worship. Souls are won to Christ daily and lives are transformed in a continual basis by reason of the word of God that is shared through several media.

Though I was born into a Christian family I got born again at age 10 in 1991 during a fellowship with the Scripture Union in my Secondary school.

My passion is to reach young people for Christ and to help them through their walk with Christ, to guide them in the knowledge of the word of God and be their mentor, to raise mentors, build homes and reach the nations with the Gospel of Christ.

I am ordained a Pastor and have been functioning in that calling since then, but the more reason I see myself as a Pastor is because of my compassion towards all men and my desire to get people turned to Christ, my drive to always find a reason to help those in need and my pursuit to help others grow in the knowledge of the word of God. I love teaching the bible, its something I can’t seem to do without.

I was Ministered to by the Holy Spirit on several occasions yet I refused to yield, I even ran away from my former ministry because of the call to be a Pastor, but when several other ministers of the Gospel kept confirming this testimony I choose to yield to His call and function in Ministry.

In Nigeria running ministry is seemingly without challenges, except for financing as running ministry is quite costly here. In my specific location it is even moreso because of the cost of mobility, its predominantly riverine and the marine transportation is very expensive here. Get people to go on missions to these rural communities is quite challenging.

My local church has been very supportive since my ordination especially in prayers.

My family also have been very encouraging, bearing testimony of His grace and ministering to my needs. And also praying consistently for me.

I have a small start-up which is barely bring in anything at the moment and therefore cannot afford regular Bible School education like the one that CLI is offering, hence this scholarship is very important as it helps build my capacity to build others, and to grow a walk-with-God Church. I am grateful for what I have got from CLI, thank you very much and may the Lord bless you richly.

Please pray that the desire God has placed in our heart will grow and that He (God) will bring partners to help us move this Gospel to the ends of the earth, that His grace upon my life and ministry will continue to increase and that we will bare witness and be a testimony of His glory. Pray also that the eyes of our understanding in my ministry be enlightened daily to so we can feed His people with the sincere milk of the revelation word of God.

Nigerian Evangelism – Christian Leaders Institute Helps Leaders Get Ready

My name is Godwin Friday Olaposi. I live in Nigeria. There are three major religions (Christianity, Islam and Paganism). You are allowed freedom of nigerian evangelismreligion and  freedom of worship here.  Nigerian evangelism is not obstructed by the government or the public. One of our big obstacles is finances which makes Nigerian evangelism challenging. Institutions like Christian Leaders Institute that provide Free Online Ministry Training really help spread Nigerian evangelism to reach people for Christ. Paganism is also on the high side in my area where people claim to be Christians but yet get involved in fetish things.  (The BBC reported the killing of 11 women in Nigeria in December of 2013).

I was born into a Christian family. My parents raised me pentecostal. We were brought up in living strictly by the Word of God. We did not drink, smoke or womanize. We also did not socialize with unbelievers in order to reach them. When I grew up I came to realize that Nigerian evangelism was my responsibility. I realized that a walk with God includes more than family and  church. I attended a Holy Ghost night vigil in my local church where I received the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues and since then I have never looked back in serving the Lord. My ministerial dream is to save as many souls to God as I can before I die. Included in that Nigerian evangelism goal is to be used by the Holy Spirit to perform apostolic exploits in deliverance and signs and wonders.

I see myself as an evangelist as a result of my calling as a deliverance minister. I am called to minister freedom to the children of God to those troubled by unclean spirits and to those afflicted with sickness and diseases that medical treatment fail to cure.

Nigerian Evangelism At Practical Levels

I decided to go into ministry to meet the needs of Christians who have spiritual problems, poverty, sickness, spiritual affliction and oppression. This was what I went through as a child.  I went through financial stress without a clue as to what was expected in my hard work. I was introduced to a man of God, an evangelist/prophet who helped me understand what I needed to do to break generational pacts and to bring real changes to my life.

The unique challenges to Nigerian evangelism in my geographical area are real! Being a born again practicing Christian is very challenging because I live in an animist area of Nigeria where fetish activities are common. Many professed Christians join the pagans in the race for quick riches and wealth, thereby involving themselves in fetish rituals to acquire wealth. These things affect the faith of true believers in my area.

My local church, especially my pastor, made me realize and follow the call of God upon my life. They supported me both morally and financially in ministry and pursuit of Biblical knowledge. I thank God for my good wife supporting me in my ministry preparation. She ensures that she support me in prayers, in finance and organizing church activities with the church elders as well.

I need Christian Leaders Institute to acquire this priceless Biblical knowledge in order to learn and be proficient in the walk with God and effective in Christian ministry.

In conclusion, I also need the prayers of the Christian community to keep me focused on Nigerian evangelism that I work hard to win souls for Christ. I need prayers also that all resources needed to succeed in my ministry would be provided for me.

We ask students to write a final reflection paper in this Church and Ministry course. See how free pastor training is reflected upon by this Henry Long of Nigeria. Free minister Training

Henry Long Writes:

“First and foremost, I must thank God for bringing me in contact with CLI. The day I enrolled with CLI marked the beginning of something glorious and beautiful in my life and ministry.

During the course of this free minister training,  I have learned so many things and will just briefly highlight some of them:

How to effectively run a small group of volunteers. How to determine the agenda of the group and how the needs of the members of the group can be met.

How to handle grief. This was evident when a particular friend of mine was overwhelmed and she broke down in tears. Before CLI, I would have started saying words like “Don’t cry”, “Don’t shed tears”, but learning the stages of grief  and how hot handle the grieving, I was able to handle the friend and at the end of her grieving period, she came to say thank you to me for the way I handle the period.

I learnt that a great leader must always train a successor so the ministry won’t die when the founder goes to the world beyond.

Also, I have realized that the most treasured gift we can ever have as a leader or pastor is the relationship that comes our way every moment, because the way we treat people is a sermon on its own.

One area that I really have great interest in is evangelism. I have personally come to understand that evangelism plays a key part in the advancement of the kingdom of Christ. I love Lee Strobel’s video on the different styles of sharing the gospel. To help me in sharing the gospel the more, I started daily blackberry devotionals that I share with all my contacts and I can say that the Almighty God has been touching souls via that medium.

My understanding of hospitality improved when I went through the Hospitality class session. I now understand that the Jesus some people will only see is the Jesus we show them through the way we treat other people.

On a final note, I feel really satisfied and glad to have enrolled with CLI to receive this free minister training.  I can really say that once I thought I knew, but with CLI, I now know better.”

Ford Johnson of Nigeria – Christian Basics Graduate of the Day

Ford Johnson –

“I live in Nigeria and doing ministry here is highly competitive especially for starters like us who may not have the fund to start. Nigeria as a country varies in different States and the State where I reside which is Calabar in Cross River State has the highest cost of living and as such it makes it cost expensive for upcoming Ministers like us.

“I had just returned from Libreville and resumed school in Umuahia Abia State Nigeria at Holy Ghost Secondary School. On the 25th of November 1994, I had been longing for something which I personally did not really know, but the only word which I can use to describe it was a vast void. As I walked into the hall of Scripture Union School Fellowship Nigeria that afternoon, I was amazed to see a boy of about my age preaching the gospel and for sure that was my first time of ever seeing that. Within moment I was convicted and I gave my life to Jesus Christ at the age of 14, then I was in my JSS class.

“My ministry dream is to build a Christian center that will center on prayer and the word. It will be like a fellowship center for all churches and all believers. Our meetings will be held during the week and not on a Sunday morning but once a week and a monthly interdenominational outreach program. It will also have an outreach that will major on Evangelism and crusades for rural areas. We will also partner with NGO’s for rural development. However our Vision is to see the body of Christ come to the knowledge that we are one body.”Ford Johnson

Ford Johnson Receives a Scholarship

“It will give me a legitimate platform as a minister of the Gospel. And this is what I have longed for, for over ten years. Having the call of God in my life is not enough, but it is important that I undergo training that will enlighten me in discipline, improve my language skills, and give me the ministerial exposure and training I need for proper scriptural exposition. Truthfully, it will set me up and make me ready to serve God and humanity.

“I would like you to pray for me in three things: For God to give me the financial support I need to start, for God to give me the right boldness to preach the end time massages He wants me to preach, and that I will be duly empowered by Him.”

Ford Johnson has desired to follow the call of God to ministry for several years, but has not had the means to do so. Because of various factors in the area where Ford Johnson resides, it is difficult for a new pastor to enter the ministry scene. However, Ford Johnson has not given up his dream of ministry because of this. Ford Johnson knows that God has called him to the ministry field and that he cannot give up that calling. In searching for a means to pursue the calling, Ford Johnson came to Christian Leaders Institute, where a scholarship will give him the training he needs at no cost to him.
