Everyone Has A Story
I used to think my account didn’t matter, but everything changed when I began walking alongside God, recognizing Him as a Father and a Friend. This journey led me to the Christian Leaders Institute and its free online Bible courses.
My name is Timothy Kipchirchir Kanda. I was born and raised in the small village of Kipsetan, Elgeyo-Marakwet County, Kenya. Growing up in a polygamous family, I was the third of five children among numerous siblings. Professionally, I’m trained as an urban planner and am currently undertaking a one-year internship in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. My faith defines me – I adore God wholeheartedly, for He loved me first.
My Youthful Days
Reflecting on my youth brings back a myriad of memories. Life was challenging for our family. Despite being a primary school teacher, our father wasn’t particularly supportive. From an outsider’s perspective, having a teacher in the family was commendable. However, the reality within our household was starkly different. My mother even resorted to brewing alcohol to make ends meet. Thankfully, by the time I gained awareness of the world, she had transitioned from brewing and had found solace in the church. Today, she is a devout Christian, and I earnestly pray that my father will embrace Christ.
Church was non-negotiable for us as children. Through regular attendance, Christian values took root in my heart. My younger self believed that merely attending church and being good equated to salvation. It wasn’t until later that I grasped the profound meaning of salvation and the Holy Spirit.
Financial hardships continued to plague us. Our challenges peaked when my elder brother fell seriously ill, closely followed by my mother developing a concerning health condition. However, by God’s grace, they both recovered and remain healthy today.
Basic Ministry Calling
High school introduced me to Christian leadership. Serving as the Christian Union chairperson for two consecutive years marked the genesis of my ministry calling. However, it wasn’t enough to cultivate a deep, personal relationship with God. I felt an unexplained yearning within.
A recurring vision perplexed me. In it, I found myself addressing a vast crowd. Initially, I interpreted this as a potential political calling. However, as this vision persisted, I began discerning a divine message.
My time at university was transformative. Before enrolling, my impression of university life was dominated by tales of freedom, limited academic pressures, and rampant immorality. Little had I heard of active Christian communities on campuses. Surprisingly, I encountered a thriving Christian Union at the university, highlighting the gaps in my faith. An unforgettable sermon by one of the Christian Union patrons resonated deeply with my prior misconceptions, urging me to seek a closer relationship with God.

Desire For Growth
During my university years, I have awakened a thirst for a deeper understanding of God’s Word. I often found myself frustrated, feeling an insatiable need to delve deeper into the scriptures. One revelatory morning, God’s gentle voice highlighted my casual approach to Bible study, nudging me towards a more deliberate and thoughtful engagement with His Word. This epiphany underscored my need for structured Biblical teaching.
The university also provided leadership opportunities. Serving as the secretary and later as the chairperson of the Christian Union on our satellite campus in Kisumu was a preparatory phase, laying the foundation for a deeper communion with God.
My Spiritual Dream & The CLI Journey
My spiritual aspiration is to immerse myself in God’s teachings and to share His profound love. The vision of education and potentially establishing a church remains alive. Aware of the financial constraints of conventional Bible colleges, I sought online alternatives. Discovering the Christian Leaders Institute was nothing short of a blessing.
I’m profoundly grateful to CLI for this opportunity. With immense appreciation for the sponsors, I embark on this enlightening journey, eager to understand God’s call more deeply. Thank you, CLI, and may God’s blessings abound.

My name is Christina Martin, and I am excited to receive free proper Bible training at Christian Leaders Institute. My husband and I have four children. I am from a small city called Martinsville. I am an LPN, QMHP-A, and serving others has been in my heart since my childhood. As a child, I knew that I was different and unique. I was emotionally sensitive and cared for the needs of others. Mostly, I put their needs before mine.
My mother told me as a child that I was born with a veil over my face. I believe it had prophetic meaning. At ten years old, I had a disturbing dream of Satan. He was tall with horns on his head and appeared as a dark image with fire all around him. I woke up in terror. When I became a Christian, I learned about spiritual warfare.
Called to Free Proper Bible Training at CLI
God saved me around the age of 21, with no previous knowledge of God. Currently, I have a website, www.christinasinspirations.com. and a YouTube Channel. Not to mention, I am working on my first book, which is about my spiritual journey. I gave my testimony in front of a small crowd for the first time this year; it was a positive experience. I’m not ashamed of the gospel. Serving God is the best decision I ever made.
Often, I run across leaders who teach as if they are adequately trained in the word of God and do not prep enough to teach a lesson. So, I am hoping to obtain a solid foundation at the Christian Leaders Institute in the word of God and a walk with God. I see myself as an evangelist for God. Therefore, I want to receive this free proper Bible training to serve God and God’s people effectively. Thank you, CLI, for this free proper Bible training with a solid foundation!

Hello! My name is George Alvarado, and I am studying at CLI for the wedding officiant license. Originally from Chicago, IL, I am an American with Puerto Rican descent. I grew up in a middle-class home with parents that worked hard to give me a better life than they had. My desire to do the best I can stems from my upbringing. However, I didn’t grow up in a Christian home. So spiritually, I was not privileged to hear the gospel.
Growing Up
My childhood was not without its sinful behaviors. I had great parents, but I was a struggling kid. Aside from the usual lousy attitude and disobedience, when I began to reach my teen years, I was arrested twice. It was primarily my mouth that got me in trouble. My dad handled the situation the best way he could to keep me from further trouble. But, he also had to stay on top of me until I graduated and joined the Air Force.
Nevertheless, it was in High School that I first heard the gospel. It was at the funeral of a kid who died in a tragic accident. Although that day, when during the service, I falsely repented, it was still the beginning of what was to come in the future for my life in Christ.
Joining the Military
By the time I joined the Air Force, I was doing my own thing. I hypocritically called myself a Christian, although it was easy to tell that I was not. About a year before my conversion on January 11, 2004, God began to convict me for my sins. Every day when I woke up, the first thought on my mind was, “If you die today, you are going to hell.” I knew this was true of me. But, of course, sin finds a way to justify itself, and I eventually just went about my day.
Conversion
Right before I received orders to travel to England, I got to the point where I could not handle it any longer. I called my then fiancé and told her I could not continue to live the way I was. I let her know that I was going to church and wanted her to join me. She did, but she wasn’t all that thrilled about it.
Then, on January 4, 2004, after the preacher finished preaching, I began to weep and sob concerning my sin. My only thought the whole time God was regenerating me was, “How could you forgive me after all I’ve done? Even calling myself a Christian hypocritically. How could you forgive me?” That is the question I asked myself for about a half-hour while I was pouring out my heart in repentance to God. However, at the finish, I was refreshed and born again! Never to look or go back to my lifestyle of sin.
England
My call to preach was self-evident. Immediately, I shared the gospel with family and friends. When I arrived in England, I shared the gospel and witnessed in the streets for about six and a half years. It was when I first open-air preached in Cambridge, England, that I realized I was called to the ministry. And my time in those streets was foundational in the years to come.
During my time in England, I also had many struggles with some pastors who didn’t find evangelism appealing. But despite those conflicts, my theology and my experience grew. I matured as I continued to remain faithful despite opposition in and out of the churches.
Nevertheless, I was able to serve as a Sunday school teacher, a military prison Bible study leader, an evangelism team and adult Bible study leader, and an aid to pastors with preaching on Sunday. I had many opportunities to serve through the Air Force that led to more preaching of the gospel.
United States
Whether on vacation or when stationed in the USA, I preached in and out of the church as well. I have preached in various cities and led evangelism teams. Currently, I enjoy teaching Bible studies at my local church. Furthermore, I write blog articles, record podcasts dealing with a wide range of topics, and participate in apologetics and debates.
Wedding Officiant License Study at CLI
In my ministry, I have been giving formal marriage counseling to couples. It has been a blessing to sit down with couples who desire to honor God in their upcoming marriage. With the counseling, often the pair would like me to officiate their ceremony. The state I live in requires certification to do that. The Wedding Officiant license offered at the Christian Leaders Institute is going to provide an excellent opportunity to fulfill that role for these couples, and the ones to come.
