Kenyan Small Group Minister

Kenyan Small Group Minister

My name is Isaiah Githinji and I feel called to be a Kenyan small group minister. I am a Kenyan citizen and a born again and committed Christian. I am married and together we have a 2-year-old daughter. I grew up in a Christian family and came to know the Lord as a child. My dad was a clergyman supported by my mother. I came to know God early on in my life and later renewed my faith in Christ by getting baptized at Full Gospel Church of Kenya, Kitale. My faith had been tested and I had found myself slipping away and following after worldly pleasures. I made it back through God’s grace. I can say now that I am more mature in faith and more focused than before. The journey is not ended and there are challenges, temptations, trials, and disappointments along the way, but I am encouraged by the words in Hebrews 13:5, ‘’I will never leave you nor forsake you.’’

Kenya is largely a Christian nation with various Christian denominations at the center stage. There is freedom of worship for all religions and therefore Christians are able to freely evangelize and demonstrate their faith to non-Christians. With this comes the unique challenge of many Christians with not very strong roots and living unproductive lives. It’s the job of strong committed Christians to bring back the backslidden Christians to the fold and to strengthen and equip them for service.

I have served in music ministry as a church drummer and also in the choir as a tenor. I have served in Sunday school ministry as a volunteer and as a member of the youth ministry. My dream ministry is to serve as a Kenyan small group minister and to reach unreached people of the world. I believe the call to serve is something that was taught to me from my formative years. I believe it’s the Holy Spirit that drives one to desire to serve God and other factors come into play when one selects which ministry to serve in.

This class at Christian Leaders Institute has really helped me to appreciate the need to be active in ministry as a calling. It has helped me to re-examine my faith and the serving opportunities there are in ministry. It has set a foundation for a thorough study of scriptures and lifelong Christian learning. If I were to choose a ministry or role, I would like to serve as a Kenyan small group minister.

Our local church, Parklands Baptist Church in Nairobi, has very vibrant ministries and talent/calling identification processes to help people discover their ideal ministry based on a variety of factors such as calling, personality, skills, and experience. Doors to serve are open to any church member who feels led to serve in a particular area. In 2015-2016, I served as a volunteer Sunday school assistant before taking a break to take care of my wife and our newborn daughter.

One of the challenges in my geographic area is that there are a lot of people who need to be reached with the gospel and yet there are not enough workers who are willing or are adequately trained in ministry. “’The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.’’

This opportunity at Christian Leaders Insitute will help to train, equip, and empower me to be a servant in the kingdom of God. I am actively looking for opportunities to serve and reach out to others. I will also be able to create and seek opportunities to serve in small groups and also an unreached people ministry. That is where I feel I can plug in right away.

Please pray for me, that the call of God will continue to unfold even as I get equipped to serve him. Pray for my family, that we shall continue being strong in the Lord and as a couple that we build a strong foundation for our children and generations to come. Pray that the church of Jesus Christ in Kenya will wake up and take her rightful role of being the light to the nations. Pray that the community will embrace and love one another irrespective of faith, creed, language or culture.
Pray that the church will be a role model in our society and nation where many will be convicted and inspired to see people who are changed and productive and lead value-driven lives for Christ

Youth Minister Education

Youth Minister Education

My name is Loretta Evans. I am receiving a free Youth Minister education at Christain Leaders Insitute. I live in Saint Petersburg, Florida, in the United States of America. I was born to Bennie and Lois Peterson. My mom passed away on Christmas day in 1978. My dad passed away a month ago on April 22, 2018. I am married to Robert Evans, Jr. and we have four beautiful daughters and one handsome son. Our children have given us eleven grandchildren.
I am currently a retired school teacher. I taught for 20 years.

I have always known the Lord all of my life. Going to church, Bible study and Sunday school were not a choice for us as children, it was a given. We lived in a small town that only had worship services at our church on the 2nd and 4th Sundays because the Pastors had another church they led on the 1st and 3rd Sundays.

My dream is to become a youth minister. My goal is to save as many youths as I can. It is really sad to see so many youths on the streets throwing their lives away by getting caught up in drugs, robbery, and killing each other. I want to spread the word of the Lord and help guide them to a walk with the Lord. I want to show them that there is a better path for them to travel. All they need is faith in the Lord and someone to help lead them in that direction.

Christian Leaders Insitute has helped me to reflect on my youth minister education in ministry. It helps me to renew and grow in my faith in the Lord, and most of all it helps me to stay focused on God and his call as I receive this youth minister education. When I was a school teacher, I used to talk to the students about life, God, and their faith. I realized some of the students had never been to a church or even knew of God at all.

I have always wanted to be a minister. When I was a young child, I used to pretend I was a preacher. I used to gather my friends and have church. I was the pastor and we would sing and shout and have a good old time for the Lord. As I got older, I kind of moved away from that dream because I got married, my husband was in the military, and we traveled a lot. Besides, back then no one really was into listening to women ministers.

CLI ministry training is very important to me because it is going to provide me with a free education. They do this through the passion of generous partners who support these revolutionary free online college-level classes. I won’t have to worry about paying out of my pocket for an expensive education, or getting loans and going into debt trying to pay them back. It will prepare me to be successful in reaching my dream and goals. Most of all, it will bring me closer to the Holy Spirit.

Solid Ministry Training

Solid Ministry Training

My name is Kyle Taylor, and I am a Christian, husband, and local church worship leader. We have lived in Monroe, Michigan since 2016 and love enjoying the community, music, volunteering, and supporting local businesses. As an occupation, I work full time as a retail pharmacy technician for a Michigan based company named Meijer. I have been a pharmacy technician for over five years and enjoy learning about various disease states, medications, and therapies. I surrendered to the Lord at the age of 16 and since desired to serve Him with my whole heart.

I plan to use my ministry training provided by CLI to enhance further the kingdom calling on my life to serve in the capacity of a Bible teacher. I love the word of God and helping disciple others to be well equipped thoroughly with the word of God for the advancement of the everyday gospel. I also have a burning heart for house churches and persecuted believers who give everything for the sake of the gospel. CLI ministry training will accurately prepare me in all areas of ministry and increase my credibility within the global Christian community.

Having a scholarship at CLI will enable me to pursue the college biblical education and credibility I have sought to achieve. Because of finances, I could never afford high-cost college tuition which is required at most seminaries or colleges. This became a barrier that made me feel as though I could not find a place with solid ministry training but then I came across CLI. Since then my passion for learning has been refreshed because of this incredible opportunity.
