THANKING GOD FOR CLI

I’m a woman of forty nine years. Married with three children, my husband is a military officer. I was employed and worked for nineteen years, and I decided to stop because I felt my service is most needed on the field where God’s people are working. The nineteen years that I worked, ten years was used preaching in my church till I stopped the work and still do till now. My children are between the ages of fifteen and nine years and they are still in school.

I am a Ghanaian. Ghana is located in west Africa, and I am living with my family in the Northern part of Ghana. Ghana as a whole has a very large population of Christians and we have freedom of worship. The only thing Ghanaians need are the true word of God or the true Gospel. The Northern part where I live is Muslim-dominated, for that reason is very difficult to convert a Muslim to Christianity, but now that I have acquired this knowledge from Christian Leaders Institute I am trusting God to give me different direction concerning that issue.

My parents played a very big important role in my life with regards to coming to know God. They both were dedicated Christians and they brought up my sisters and I in the same way they were brought up. I am first among seven girls my parents put the fear of God in us through the morning and evening devotions they were having with us whilst growing and our regular Sunday church attendance.

Christian Leaders Institute is a great blessing from God to me and my family because most of the courses were discussed by the entire family. CLI has given me a strong foundation of family life and as a student, I am so much equipped with high education I had in CLI.

The teaching I received together with my calling has given me a very strong confidence and assurance that the Lord is answering my prayers. I thank everybody in CLI so much for the good works you are doing and may the good Lord bless you and your donors.

In Ghana, we have only two institutions that recognize graduates from those institution as those qualified to be ordained so even if you have masters from other institutions in the world, unless you go back to Trinity College before you can be ordained as a minister i.e the Protestants, and Catholic you have to go Catholic Seminaries. Aside these two institutions, it is only few Churches that have their bible schools that they train their members to become Pastors. For this reason anyone at all can make himself a pastor and these people are making business with Christianity in Ghana. Christ is no longer preached, it is only prosperity. The Church, as the body of Christ is not recognized.

For these reasons, knowing that I have acquired high quality education in Diploma courses, I prayed for about six months for God’s guidance in this issue and He actually heard my prayers and directed me to the leaders of different denominations including these national churches which will not have anything to do with me if not God’s intervention and on that day, the body of Christ, believers from different denominations would come together and from there I know the Lord would open and Christ would be preached and they would be interested in my ministry “Presenting Christ”. I am asking God to continue connecting me to those leaders so that Christianity in Ghana will not be only a religion, but that we’ll be believers desiring to know God and His plan for Humanity. Aside “Presenting Christ” I have started a women ministry where I am trying to help women whose marriages are not doing well and also thinking of the youth who have gone wayward.

As I noted earlier on, the people in my geographical area are mostly Muslims with a very large land, so beside the regional capital the rest of the area is scattered settlement with very poor road networks. I am so grateful to my local church to discover my gift of preaching and the prayer support they have given me through my studies, they give me the platform to speak to the women and the youth in the church and this has been so helpful to me.

I want to share this because my passion for marriage has been so great that when I hear of a divorce it makes me sad. Even though I have been born and brought up in a Christian home, it was in my marriage that I had encountered with Christ. As it was my husband God prepared to shape up my whole life, he was very outgoing and could spend several hours outside home and living me alone in the house and this went on for a very long time in our marriage. This could have caused me to live the marriage because my colleagues around us started complaining. Before I married I told God to keep me in my marriage so I started praying for my husband and myself and God heard my prayers and now we are so happy in our marriage to see ourselves as one of best couples in the world. I thank God for what His has done for us.

I will like to confess that this training has made me a very new person, because it has actually affected every part of my life, my intellectual ability, spiritual life and my social life and I know these are going to reflect in my ministry’s future and making it a God glorifying ministry .

It is very important to pray for each other so I want prayer support for God to make Himself great in my life and ministry. May God bless Christian Leaders Institute.

Wedding Officiant Ordination

Wedding Officiant Ordination

John and Jennifer see their uncle George as a godly man who walks with God. They would like to ask George to be the officiant at their wedding. They also see George as one who could meet with them to give them some advice on being married. George has been a Christian leader to them in many ways.

Problem. They did not think that George was ordained, which is a requirement in their state.

They are happy to find out that George has his Wedding Officiant Ordination through Christian Leaders Institute.

This wedding officiant ordination is not just some piece of paper that is sent in the mail like so many online wedding officiant ordination documents. George received quality ministry training. This ministry training included:

Basic Christianity (7 Credits)
Pastoral Care and Marriage (3 Credits)
People Smart in Ministry (3 Credits)
Chruch and Ministry (3 Credits)
Wedding Officiant Ordination (1 Credit)
Total: (17 Credits)

John and Jennifer found out about another feature of the Wedding Officiant Ordination at Christian Leaders Institute. Christian leaders who go through their program must have three endorsers independent of themselves who affirm their calling, character and gifts for ministry.

This Wedding Officiant Ordination is credible. John and Jennifer ask George to be the officiant at their wedding. They also meet with George for some pre-marital counseling. For George, this was the beginning of a ministry journey.

The above story is a scenario that is being played out in the lives of Christian Leaders who get their wedding officiant ordination at CLI.

Meet Koan Nissen. His has served in the United States Military. His stated dream is simple:  “I would like to be a certified/qualified chaplain doing His work for our troops.”

Koan found Christian Leaders Institute online. Because of his busy schedule and availability free of charge he thought he would begin his training in ministry.

Koan has completed the Wedding Officiant Ordination requirements. Koan reflects on this education experience at Christian Leaders Institute:

The Christian Leaders Institute has taught me so much in the 17 continuing education hours I’ve completed. This wedding officiant ordination is the next step to providing citizens in my community and beyond with ceremonies grounded in God’s word. I know that academically I am better equipped to help spread God’s message and the good news of Jesus’ great sacrifice. There are a number of people that I can now effectively communicate God’s inerrant word to by way of sacred ceremonies and unions–such as Christian weddings.

Koan has pursued Wedding Officiant Ordination at Christian Leaders Institute (CLI). At CLI, Ordination is not just a piece of paper. You need local endorsements from local Christian Leaders. One of those endorsements includes the candidate’s spouse if married.  Koan submitted three endorsements. One of the endorsement was from Koan’s spouse, Cassi Nissen. She writes,

I think my husband would be a good officiant because his life has been a testimony as to what God can do with someone despite trials and hardships. He has been through tough family times- he has seen desperation and despair in his own home as he grew up. He has made life-changing decisions and knows what it is like to live with those decisions. He has also felt extreme loss and shame in his life.

Through all of that, he has maintained his faith in God and can name numerous times when, through the dark, he heard the Lord speaking to him. He would be able to relate to so many people through all of his experiences and would be able to be a living example of how amazing things can be coming out on the other side. He is kind and loyal and will not give up on anyone. His passion for the Lord can be seen in his excitement when he discusses his beliefs with someone. People enjoy listening to him speak and his sincere demeanor makes people understand the Truth- though it may sometimes be a hard “unpopular” message to convey. My husband is strong and knowledgeable and would be able to (has been able to) stand up to even the toughest of critics. He would be an incredible addition to anyone’s staff.

In Him,

Cassi Nissen

My name is Davies Mutuku. Growing up in a village setting in the interior of rural Kenya, I was the fourth born in a family of 8. It was never clear in my mind what I “wanted to be” in life. Like the rest of my siblings, I just went through the rhythm of schooling and hoped that my final year grades would ultimately determine a good fate in my life. That was 47 years ago today, and now working in Freight logistics, I look back in retrospect and see a different setup, an invisible story line altogether. It began like this; one day in our early years as we walked from home to Sundayschool, I remember one of my sisters quipping in our local dialect: “Mutuku; nonaa we ukatwika pastor” meaning “I perceive you will become a Pastor”. I thought this statement was prompted by my quiet, somber demeanor then and therefore ignored it. Though not yet a pastor, all signs over the years, however, attest that this could have been a prophecy over my life!

I gave my life to Christ and was baptized in 1981. Routinely, I attended many annual youth and men conferences organized by our local church. I however did not get into deep commitment in God. In fact I backslid when I was in college. While in Mombasa town in search of elusive employment after college in 1994, I continued attending church there and even enrolled in a correspondence Bible training course. In this training, one would pay the equivalent of one dollar to the institute to cover the cost of study materials and postage. But I dropped out mid way and never finished the course. Around this time, I met and wedded my wife Christine, who was from another church. At her persistence, I unwillingly moved and joined her church in 2000. Our son, Adam, was born the following year.

After joining this new Church, life took on a new dimension. I recommitted my life to God. From that time onwards, I became serious with my salvation. I joined the home bible cells where I was assisted to grow in my faith. I became an active Christian and started serving in my church. I felt like God was “thrusting” me into His field to make up for some lost time! In short years, I got involved in various church ministries through which I came to discover my gift of teaching. I served in home Bible fellowships, leadership development and new membership training in the church. My passion for missions and discipleship was ignited then.

Best Free Bible School Online –  CLI Experience

Early 2013, I was already a church deacon when I came across CLI as I browsed the web for Bible training opportunities. I still had a strong desire to finish off that Bible course I had dropped years back and CLI seemed capable to provide that opportunity. Moreover, the opportunity was better in that CLI training is web based and materials were provided at no cost.

I had no reason not to enroll, so I got started immediately though with a “wait-and- see” attitude! As a Bible teacher in my local church in Mombasa at that time, I was looking for deep knowledge of the things of God, answers to unresolved puzzles I had gathered over years on Christian life and faith. I was doubtful that any solid and reliable information could be available online and especially free of charge. However, my interaction with the study materials, professors and especially the online video presentations allayed my fears. I realized that this was the quality stuff I was looking for and CLI was providing it in a conveniently packaged form. Since then, I was stuck with it and received great support from my family and the local church Pastor. When my family later relocated from Mombasa to Nairobi city close to 500KM away, there was no disruption in my studies.

Ordination
With the training I have received at CLI, I am confident that my calling, gifts and passion for ministry have further solidified. I am now more equipped with practical skills and knowledge, and convinced in my heart that God has called me into teaching ministry. My ordination for ministry will therefore confirm my readiness and ushers me into this place of greater responsibility in service to God. This comes with greater commitment on my part, acknowledging that the greatest objective in this mandate is the spreading of the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ to the lost world. The training has radically changed my perspective in many areas of life. Not only has my knowledge of God’s Word widened but the understanding of people smart skills have projected a new dimension to my view of people and their place in God. This has positively impacted on my approach to ministry forever.

Unique Opportunities
Kenya is largely evangelized though a large number of communities remain unreached. There are Muslims, Asians, youth and communities in remote areas who have not yet heard the gospel of Christ. These groups remain the main targets of any evangelistic mission to the unreached and are an area requiring prayer.

Security concerns permitting, Christians in Kenya are also well positioned in many ways to take the Gospel to neighboring Somalia. The Somali have been a people neglected as their nation collapsed into chaos from years of internal political and religious strife.

Thank You
Our Lord Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Matthew 9:37-38). My prayer and heart’s desire is that I will always be found ready and a faithful worker in the harvest field, whether as a pastor as my sister “perceived” in my formative years or otherwise but according to the measure of faith God has entrusted to me. This is to the praise and glory of His holy name. Amen.
