For Such a Time as This
My name is Katie Casey. My husband and I live in Madison, WI, with three adult children, three dogs, and six chickens. I am a certified labor doula and trained childbirth educator. I am a student at the Christian Leaders Institute to further my ministry education.
My Salvation Story
I am the youngest and only girl of three, born to Tom and Sandy Line in 1976. My parents were officers in The Salvation Army. Officers are the ordained ministers who have gone through The Salvation Army’s two-year seminary. They taught us to love the Lord and Biblical teachings throughout our childhood. We frequently moved to different Midwest cities as part of the family’s ministry.
At the age of thirteen, I was at a summer camp. Another girl in our cabin introduced my friends and me to a “game” that involved “calling on spirits.” However, we quickly learned that this was no game. One friend attempted to hurt herself through the influence of an evil spirit. The only thing I knew to do was to call out the name, “Jesus!” and the girl stopped.
Several adults spoke to us about the reality of spiritual warfare after they were alerted to what happened. I thought, “This is all real..like, actually real!” At that moment, I felt Jesus say to me, “Now that you know this is real, choose.” I chose Jesus. Therefore, I asked Him into my heart and life because I believed, not because I was copying or trying to please my parents. I wanted a relationship with Jesus.
My Marriage, Family, and Ministry Service
As a young adult, I married, had three children, and worked with children and youth in The Salvation Army with my husband. I worked in ministry at the church for 16 years. In 2010, God changed my path by leading me to become a doula, someone who works with pregnant and postpartum women. I had my practice for seven years as a childbirth educator at a local hospital and as a nanny.
I became a volunteer for a women’s clinic, teaching childbirth classes. At the time, I didn’t realize that this clinic was a Christian organization with a vision to help women choose life for their unplanned pregnancies. Eventually, I learned what their mission was. They hired me to work there full-time. I have been on staff as the Education Manager and Care Coordinator for six years. I work with families to educate and walk beside them in compassionate, non-judgmental support, connecting them to their needed resources.
Further My Ministry Education at CLI
God has had His hand on every twist, turn, upswing, and down in my life. I have always felt called to work with women and children for Jesus. I know God provides opportunities to teach me more and open more doors in my journey. Therefore, I know I discovered the Christian Leaders Institute through divine intervention. He has a plan for me to further my ministry education.
I have had some of the most painful experiences one can have in life. However, I’ve also always seen God’s excellent work and faithfulness despite those experiences. I praise Him! I also constantly seek to follow what Jesus called the greatest of the commandments: to love the Lord our God first and others as ourselves second.

God’s Providence
Hi there, my name is Kathy Blehm. My husband and I live in Birch Run, Michigan. We have three adult children and five grandchildren. I am studying at the Christian Leaders Institute on my licensed ministry chaplain journey.
During my childhood and teen years, God provided a way for me to come to know and trust Him. My parents never attended church. However, wherever we moved, someone in my life would invite me to church with them. At age ten, I trusted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
God’s Provision
Throughout my adult years, I desired to know God personally. God revealed himself to me as a loving father and faithful friend.
A few years ago, someone falsely accused me of a hit-and-run accident. I prayed to God for His peace in my sleep each night as the nightmare unfolded. During this time, the peace of God that surpasses all understanding enveloped me. I slept soundly each night. The Lord also provided a competent lawyer who fought on my behalf. The accusations against me were unfounded and dismissed by the judge.
Licensed Ministry Chaplain Journey: A Plan with a Purpose
I first heard about the Christian Leaders Institute from our daughter, who became a licensed chaplain. So, out of curiosity and winter boredom, I took the same courses with the possibility of ministering to older people.
I’ve always enjoyed the company of seniors. I love to hear their life stories, especially the ones that make them remember them with laughter. I believe they are the most robust generation. Yes, youth provides physical strength, but many seniors face emotional and physical challenges requiring exceptional strength. When they can endure these hardships, they display a strength to emulate.
I pray that I can bring joy to the elderly while reflecting God’s love for them. I’m grateful for the training CLI has provided. It has equipped me with a greater insight into senior ministry. As I move forward, I trust God to reveal His plan with a purpose. May God be glorified in all that I do!

My name is Scott Voss. I have been a loving husband to Lisa for 30 years. We are proud parents of five lovely Christian souls—praise God! Such a fantastic, tight-knit family is a blessing from God. My eldest daughter, Caitlyn, recently asked me to officiate at their wedding. It is my honor to do so after achieving licensed clergy status through the Christian Leaders Institute. God uses the simplest beginnings to bring about His grand plans.
Therefore, I look forward to officiating their wedding. God has big plans for Caitlyn and Parker!
My Story
I studied at DeVry and received a degree in Electronics. I drifted into the Information Technology (IT) sector with a focus on Solution Architecture for all service areas within IT. As a lay minister, I’ve concreted my desire to understand Bible architecture as divinely articulated in God’s Word. I want to further my love for the Lord and grow spiritually. Through the Holy Spirit’s power, I can be salt and light for God’s glory and to the world’s lost people. I desire to preach, teach, and engage with Christians in Bible study. God has blessed me in that area, and I give Him thanks.
Licensed Clergy Status Through CLI
The Christian Leaders Institute has become the launching pad to equip me legally in the land and to build up the body of Christ (Eph 4:12 KJV). Further, becoming a Licensed Christian Wedding Officiant legally emboldens me to preach and teach the Word of God (Heb 4:16 KJV).
Brethren, I pray you, too, look forward to receiving that crown of righteousness at His appearing. Also, I ask that you pray for humanity in these evil times and continue to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ in this dark world (1 Cor 15:1-4 KJV).
Furthermore, I look forward to that day of blessed hope and glorious appearance (Tit 2:13 KJV). Until then, my lovely bride and I will meet you soon in the air.
