Helping People Know Jesus in Africa
My name is Christoff Steenekamp. I am called to help people to have a personal relationship with God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Therefore, I am taking online free ministry and Bible courses at the Christian Leaders Institute (Learn more about studying the Bible online, Click Here).
I live in South Africa in the city of Pretoria. My wife and I have two boys. I grew up in the Nederduitsch Hervormde Kerk and was confirmed in the church at 17.
My Ministry Journey
My call to ministry came early in my life. However, I received no encouragement to follow it. My dad did not consider it a proper vocation for a man. Therefore, I went to study in the animal health field and started to work as an animal health technician. Although I love animals, I knew it was not what God wanted me to do. After I married, I started my own business in construction. However, I continually felt God calling me into ministry. So, in 2010, I started working for a church to maintain the grounds and buildings. God used me to minister to people daily while doing my day-to-day work.
The Holy Spirit showed me that people identify as Christians but do not have a relationship with the Triune God. I realized that many people think it is enough to go to Church on a Sunday and have no other fellowship with God during the rest of the week.
God reminded me of Matthew 7:21-23: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’” I never knew you, and my heart broke.
Finding CLI
I felt I needed to do more, but my finances did not allow me to study. Then, I researched free online courses. I did a couple of free courses and then found Christian Leaders. VICTORY OVER SEXUAL SIN
The temptation for sexual sin is everywhere. In today’s world, people must figure out how not to get lost in that temptation and sin. Christians are called to “flee from sexual immorality.”
“Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.” – 1 Corinthians 6:18
We leave sexual immorality and help lead others out of such things as porn viewing or addiction. We are to avoid sexual immorality of any kind. Let’s live and lead, knowing that most of us struggle with sin and that the sexuality area of our lives is a damaged area that has caused so much harm to ourselves and our families. There is hope! Jesus has defeated death and sin. Sexual sin can be dealt with through a victorious life in Jesus Christ!
