I am Joel Eric Beauchamp from Georgia in the United States of America. I am the Pastor of the International Christian Fellowship Church in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Further, I am a student at the Christian Leaders Institute. Therefore, CLI is equipping me for ministry.
My Story
I grew up in the United Methodist Church. At 12, I went through confirmation. God saved me, and I received baptism. However, in High School, I began making poor decisions. I slowly drifted from the church and God. At 35, I was lost, depressed, broken, homeless, and addicted to drugs. On March 3, 2008, I checked into a 12-month Regeneration program called Waypoint Center.
My life changed! I developed a personal relationship with Jesus, and He changed my life. It was not easy, but Jesus walked with me through a journey of repentance and restoration. Mentored and discipled into surrendering to Jesus as my Savior and accepting Him as the Lord of my life, I dedicated my life to Him and His service.
Wherever The Lord Leads
The Lord slowly began restoring to me the “years the locust ate.” Shortly after graduating from Waypoint, I met my wife, Tara. We have been serving the Lord faithfully ever since. My family and I follow the Lord wherever He leads. We spent seven years as missionaries in Kenya. There we served in prison ministry and church planting to an unreached people group. We also assisted in structuring a Christian drug rehab center in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Currently, I pastor an English-speaking church in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The church in Honduras focuses on ministering to ex-pats and missionaries. It is an honor and blessing to serve such an extraordinary God!

I am Natalie Runyon from the USA. As I never got a degree, I am excited about the ministry degree opportunity available at Christian Leaders! It is never too late
My Journey
I grew up in a Christian home and attended church multiple times a week. At a young age, I professed faith in Christ. However, as I got older, I rebelled and became hard-hearted. I did not want to be accountable to anyone. Further, I hated the hypocrisy I saw in the church. Therefore, I determined I did not believe in the existence of God and lived as I pleased. However, our God is not distant, and He pursued me. His kindness led to my repentance.
Ministry Calling Journey
I sensed a call to ministry in my late teens and thought to be a missionary. God didn’t send me abroad but gave me a mission field in my home. My husband Michael and I married in the late ’90s. We have ten children, both biological and adopted. After being a stay-at-home homeschool mom for 20 years, the Lord made it clear that my season was changing. He had something new in store for my family and me. Then, the church leaders asked me to join the staff of my church in 2021. By 2022, I transitioned to full-time ministry.
My role as Ministry Assistant provides me the opportunity to be involved in nearly every ministry available at our church. I currently oversee Children’s Ministry, liaison with our mission partners, maintain our social media presence, coordinate communication through announcements and other means, and support our ministry leaders. My favorite aspect of my position is leading the Women’s Ministry. It’s a joy to be part of what God is doing in my local church!
Ministry Degree Opportunity at Christian Leaders
After the birth of my first daughter, I took a “break” from college. Over the years, I’ve greatly desired to complete my degree. However, time and financial constraints have made it challenging. I’m very excited about the opportunity to finish college (even if it is 25 or so years later!) through Christian Leaders Institute and College. The ministry degree opportunity with Christian Leaders is a blessing!

Growing in Biblical Leadership Training
I am Brian Helfrich. I am so grateful to Christian Leaders Institute for providing this Biblical Leadership Training Class. It has given me much insight into how to cast a vision, then walk out in that vision.
My Calling and Church Plant
I am a Senior Pastor at a small church south of Denver, Colorado. My wife, Lizzy, and I worked for several years in children and youth ministry. Then, we felt the urging of the Holy Spirit to begin a church of our own. So, after months of prayer and fasting, we launched our church at the end of 2019. Our church is called The Barn. We currently meet in a hotel meeting room but envision having an actual barn for our meeting place. We are called to help bring people into freedom, healing, and deliverance that can only be recognized by our Savior, Jesus Christ.
One of the challenges we currently face is being a mobile church. We spend hours each week setting up and tearing down equipment. We also load and unload the equipment into storage. The constant setup and tear-down take their toll on our equipment and is a lot of work. We pray that the Lord will soon lead us to a permanent meeting place. A place where we leave our equipment set up and only show up and turn things on. We also pray that it will be a place to hold more events, such as worship nights, prayer meetings, and youth events. Unfortunately, due to other events and finances, we are limited on times to rent the hotel meeting rooms.
Biblical Leadership Training Class
During the Leadership class, I learned a lot about casting a vision and leading my congregation to follow God’s leading through that vision. I have held leadership positions in the military and my secular job. However, I have never spent much time studying vision. I learned that vision is a highly effective tool to motivate and mobilize people. If we don’t have a vision of where we are going, we will never know when we will get there. If we can effectively cast a vision for the future of our churches, we can activate fellow Christians to follow and do incredible things for the Kingdom of God.
Our ministry dreams are to continue to bring the love and hope of Jesus Christ to our community. In addition, we feel called to reach out to unreached people groups. We currently minister to the unhoused community of Denver but want to see the outreaches grow in size and impact. We also dream of starting a ministry to serve those incarcerated in jails and prisons. In addition to those, we feel a leading to begin a ministry reaching out to residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Finally, we have a calling to reach out to lonely people, disciple them, and bring the love of Jesus Christ to them. All people need the comfort that only He can bring!
