Ministry Equipped

Ministry Equipped

Hello, my name is P. Nirmala Priyadarshini and I am getting ministry equipped at Christian Leaders Institute. When I was a teen, “I love you with an everlasting love” is what I heard in the stillness of my heart. Our pastor’s wife had asked the Friday prayer group ladies assembled in our home to quiet their hearts, ask God to speak, listen and write down whatever we heard. I wrote those very words I heard in my heart that day.

I grew up in South India in a home where my mom was saved and my dad wasn’t. Dad is from a non-Christian family but studied in a DonBosco school and had been introduced to Catholicism. He didn’t attend church but let us attend. The church we went to was an independent, full gospel church with sound Biblical teaching and Spirit-led worship. Mom’s relationship with the Lord was real. She was a woman of prayer and brought us (me and my older brother) up in prayer. It was in this scenario that I had accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I got anointed with the Holy Spirit in one of the Friday ladies’ prayer sessions in our home and my life was totally changed. I was around 13 or 14 years old when l discovered my identity and purpose in Christ. I found Him to be my best friend in whom I confided everything! I didn’t even have to open my mouth but when I came to Him, I felt heard, understood, accepted, safe and loved.

It was a couple of years later when I came across Jeremiah 31:3 that I knew for sure that God had spoken to me in that Friday prayer meeting. Being loved with an everlasting love is so amazing. No one can truly love like that. The God-shaped void in me had been filled.

To make a long story short, my Dad got saved after 25 years of marriage to my Mom and years of tearful prayers. It was amazing to see God’s complete work in him. And just as I had prayed, we took baptism together on the same day! Now my dad pastors a small independent church that he built in Chennai. Through my growing years, I have prayed with friends, helped with Sunday school, led local youth in our church and have always found many opportunities for personal evangelism, prayer, and counseling.

We moved from South India to the U.S. just before Thanksgiving of last year. I have been married to a God-fearing husband for 15 years and am the mom of three boys – teen, tween, and toddler! I find my primary ministerial role at home. I want my boys to taste the love I found in Christ Jesus, to have the fear of the Lord and the knowledge of the Holy One, to be taught by Him, and to grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man. I want them to be passionately in love with Him and serve Him with all their heart. I want them to grow to be the prophets, priests, and kings of their own homes. My prayer is for their salvation. And I want to be ministry equipped so I can minister to them and others in a better way. I am also interested in counseling people of all age groups. I am a stay-at-home mom and want to be prepared. There is always so much to learn through all the seasons of life.

My brother is the one who introduced me to Christian Leaders Institute and had been constantly encouraging me throughout last year to do the course to be ministry equipped. So here I am finally starting off with the introductory course.
