Get Ordained in Montana – A Testimony!

My name is Susan Thomas, and I live in Lolo, Montana. I hold a master’s degree in philosophy and serve at a local Christian, pro-life pregnancy support center, which we no longer refer to as crisis pregnancy centers. My aspirations include starting a small house church or a compassionate teaching ministry. I’m also an active Christian author. Obtaining ordination as a minister will aid me in pursuing these paths. The training I received from CLI has inspired me to continue seeking God’s will for my life and calling.

Growing up in South America with missionary parents, I’ve always felt a calling to show others the love of Jesus. My upbringing was quite conservative, and I was taught that women were below men, with the belief that God trusted men more and women were more easily deceived. However, my love for Jesus remained steadfast, as I knew He loved me and kept me safe regardless of life’s circumstances. Though I haven’t always been faithful, I’ve experienced God’s immense love, forgiveness, holiness, and magnificence through life’s trials and by walking alongside others in their pain and fear. My commitment to Bible study taught me that interpreting the Bible through a modern Western lens can lead to errors. Therefore, I diligently researched lexicons, Bible history books, and cultural texts from Bible times, which helped me realize that women are not inherently inferior to men. Biblical women were spiritual, political, and military leaders. They taught men, ruled over them, and spread Christ’s love to the world. I refuse to be silenced by fear and oppression based on my gender, and I reject legalistic and patriarchal misinterpretations of Scripture that hinder my testimony for my beloved Savior—a God who shows no partiality.

I have sought ordination so that I can take the next step that God has for me, even though I’m uncertain about the specifics. Titles, salaries, and hierarchies do not concern me; my primary goal is to share Christ’s love, mercy, and redemption with the world in whatever way God allows and equips me to do so. I am solely taking my marching orders from Him.
