My name is Sandra Ewen; I work as a school clinic nurse. My life is a living testimony has to what God can do. I’ve always believed in the Lord but it was one day while I was seated in New York and I was lamenting to a friend over the phone “why God would let me go through so much suffering.” It was then has I uttered the words, I felt a rushing wind towards me and it felt like electricity had shot through me there and I began to praise the Lord in a loud voice. Several months later when I had arrived in Florida, I started to attend a church and got baptized. I’ve always wanted to work for the kingdom of God, but just didn’t know how to get involved, I felt like I didn’t know enough or could quote scriptures to win souls. But, I’ve now realized that God can use anyone and any small thing.
This following life event has propelled me to move out of my comfort zone and not to be afraid to act upon a need:
One particular morning, I had a student who visited the clinic and asked if I’d any underwear due to the one he was wearing had holes in it. I didn’t have any at the time and told him so, sadly he walked away.
He came back a second time for a band aid for his knee which had a small sore on it. By this time I could see how unkempt he was, he was in need of skin care and his clothing was dingy etc.
Third time it was for another band aid the one I’d given him had fallen off, I took care of him and sent him on his way. Within 5 minutes he was back again in the clinic, this time without any shoes, one of his big toe was bleeding. I’m going to be honest, I was now annoyed with him….I had a rough start in the morning, it was June and the A/C wasn’t working; it was 80 degrees in the clinic. There was a big fan on the floor blowing by my desk where he was seated. As he sat there on the chair swinging his feet back and forth, I was assaulted with each swing of a foul odor (can you imagine the scent!?)
I remembered feeling overwhelmed that no one wanted to deal with him and his odor and, boy, I was upset. But while walking to the bathroom to get him a change of shirt because he’d said the one he had on smelt like fish; I asked myself “What would Jesus Do?” and a quiet voice said “Wash his feet!”
This was the most humbling experience for me. I bent down with a basin filled with soapy water, paper towels and washed his bug bitten feet with tiny sores. A week later he was taken with his other 5 siblings and placed in foster care before I had a chance to do anything for him and because of him, his needs and the needs of others “I See the Need Ministry” was birthed. A ministry that raises funds for underwear and socks for the school clinic. I continue to pray that the Lord will watch over them and one day I will see him again better off than he was.
A scholarship to CLI would enable me to learn more about the Bible and to effectively evangelize to those who don’t know Christ. As a single mother of three, I wouldn’t be able to afford or able to attend any classes which would take me away from home from my children. I pray that I can be a blessing to others as CLI.
My vision is to have a ministry that not only speak the Word of God, but also demonstrates the love of Jesus Christ who didn’t ignore the suffering of the people, but did something about it!
Matthew 25:35 (NIV) 35 “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
I am Glory Adeola from Nigeria. I am married with children. I am the senior pastor of Living Manna Ministries Int’l and by His grace I am a Christian writer and author.
I was born to a polygamous Muslim family in 1974. I grew up as a devoted Muslim until 1991 when I had encounter with Jesus through a night vision of revelation of rapture, seven plagues and second coming of Jesus. I was dazed and confused when I woke up because it was so real and that revelation made null everything I was taught about Jesus in the mosque. In those days I was a follower of Hammed Deedat, a Muslim scholar in South Africa who wrote many books to negate Christianity and Jesus as the Son of God.
It was in this night vision He called me to His work. I can still see face, His smile and His outstretched hands to me and the angels that surrounded Him in the sky. I gave my life to Christ and since then I have been following with all my heart amidst persecutions, trials and temptations that came my way as a convert from Islam to Christianity. I am glad that I am working in His vineyard and fulfilling His plan for my life.
I know that Jesus is real, rapture is real, judgment day is real and second coming of Jesus is real because I saw all these that night. I will never forget the declaration of the seven angels that appeared to punish the whole world. They said because you have rejected Jesus Christ as your Saviour, behold, God’s judgment upon you.
This is the major reason that I am in ministry. I mean to help as many people as possible to escape what I have seen and to raise men and women in thousands and millions to do the same with passion. For this reason I need the training to get more knowledge and fire in my bone to reach the unreached and to train men and women that will do the same with love and compassion of Christ.
My name is La’Nay and I live in the Orlando, FL (United States). I have lived here for 8 yrs now. I am a wife of 17 yrs and a mother of 2 beautiful teenagers. My parents are both planters and officer’s in their church. As I live day to day I also work as a Accountant and attended additional studies at SNHU for Healthcare Management.
As far as my ministry, my main purpose is to serve the community whether it is near or far. The ministry that I have been led to is of one in bringing forth followers of Christ.
I was born into a faith-base religion and attended church and was saved at 13 yrs old. I enjoy fellowship with others. The word that I can honestly say that I can identify with is “Leader”, reason being I have known from a young age that I had a love for helping others and leading them. I have followed many to learn the importance to leadership in an effective way. As many may say, I had a “light bulb” appear in my choice to pursue ministry, but I was chased after for a long time; never fully understanding what the Lord wanted me to do. I eventually gave in because I couldn’t run anymore. My journey from a rebellious teen to a wife and more has blossomed into a glorious journey; knowing that the Lord chose me. Some of the unique challenges that I face in my area is distance, but it’s not a huge factor that can’t be overcome.
My local church has significantly supported me in my journey in ministry as well as my family. It is a joy to pass a quiz and have my immediate family say “Well Done”!
I told my little brother I am finally pursuing my ministry teachings and he says, “It’s about time.”
Just to know that everyone has seen it and it took a little battle for me to realize what God has called and what he has already predestined upon my life since birth. In attending CLI, receiving a scholarship is so rewarding, to know that there are individual’s who care such as the staff at CLI, is an inspiration and leads me to honor each and every moment; knowing that God has secured a faithful few to extend knowledge and leadership to many.
