Hi! My name is Justin M Scott, father of my daughter Ali and husband to my wife Desire and I am on a mission! I am not sure where or what exactly, but I do know it starts here with getting some extra education. I believe God has called me to go out and teach others about the Gospel. I am not exactly sure what that looks yet but I will be obedient to His call and His purpose to spread the Gospel and make disciples and plant churches. That is also a part of my church’s mission, vision, and values at Reverb Church.

At Reverb Church, I have been volunteering in the music ministry pretty much since the church was planted, about 5 years ago. I have learned so much about music in these short 5 years that it makes me wonder what I learned the other 15 before I started using my gift for God. God is really showing me what I can do to reach people through music, so much so, that I have started a youtube channel and a Facebook page. They are in the beginning stages and God has not really shown me what my next step is but I believe that taking these classes here at CLI will be the breakthrough to what God is going to do with me and my gift.

I can’t wait to learn more about God here at CLI and most importantly I can’t wait to use what I’ve learned to help the lost find God or even help the confused know the truth. My desire for God’s word and its meaning was inspired by a man I met who had a gift of interpretation. His teaching has impacted my spiritual walk so much that I can’t seem to feed the hunger for the word since he stopped teaching. Hopefully, through the mentors at CLI, I will be fed once again and be filled up so that I can go out and feed others.

Church Planting Ministry

Become a leader in Church Planting Ministry today. Christian Leaders Institute (CLI) offers free high-quality online ministry training. CLI accepts any individual anywhere in their life to learn about Christianity. Read a student’s testimony below who was a lost son of God and found CLI as a tool to rediscover the pathway to Christ:

I was born in Quezon City Philippines and migrated to Simi Valley California on May 1982. I have a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MBA concentrating in Project Management. I have been married (Jaylene) for almost 24 years with a 22 years old daughter (Larissa) and an 18 years old son (Ryan). Currently, I am studying Church Planting Ministry at Christian Leaders Insitute.

When I was 3 years old, my parents separated and I grew up mainly with my grandmother. I barely saw my father for he was a merchant marine who was always out of town so I never really about to get to know him. I didn’t know my mom very well either. Although we migrated to the US in May of 1982 both of which a regret – I should have been matured enough to find the time to get to know them and this is something that I wished I could change.

Since I never really had a father figure, I often was finding myself getting in trouble. After I turned 18, I started getting into more trouble.  I was in and out of jail for a day or two. One day, there was a rumble within the jail. Even though I was not a part of the disagreement, my sworn enemies pointed fingers at me as part of that rumble and I was sentenced to 6 months of jail time. It was then that I was first introduced to the Bible. I was blessed with one inside my cell. I read the entire bible twice although it was very confusing. I was also introduced to this person who prayed for me in tongue and that really scared me for I have no clue what he was saying. This was in 1990.

While in jail, I had all the time to evaluate my life and it was not looking good. I decided that I need to go to college and make something of myself. I also knew that I needed to leave California in order to get out of trouble. I needed to find a woman from out of town. Once I was released, my sister took me in and I earned my bachelor degree in DeVry University and that is where I met my wife of 24 years. I could see now that Romans 8:28 and Jeremiah 29:11 is so real as this happened to me.

It was not until July 2007 that I accepted the Lord Jesus to be my Lord and Savior and although I have many ups and down, I am so glad that He never gave up on me. I have served many positions in churches – Administrator, Bible teacher, Men’s Ministry President, church deacon. As I continue learning about God, I crave more knowledge.  I have the desire to continue on and advance to serve Him more and more.

I searched for a long time to find a school for free and after a year or so of searching, I found CLI and started studying daily since Dec of 2016. CLI courses are well written and very detailed. The quizzes are challenging. I found it a real quality course and really recommend it. Being ordained by CLI will help me with church planting, house churches as well as to be a pastor if God is willing for me to do so. CLI will help me achieve my goal of studying church planting ministry.

I have been praying that God will allow me to plant a church but I was not certain on the location God wanted me to start one. During our house hunting, we made many offers all over the place and none of them went through, except for one. This is where I am currently located in Rahway, NJ. I asked God to allow me to plant a church here. Iin April 2017, my church split up because of the different views of buying a building and now I have no church. This is where I need CLI to help me out.

I do have about 4 or 5 families now to plant a church. We do small group (house church) but not every week as many are on vacation, but I intend to make this to a weekly basis. We need all the prayer we can get. Please pray for us, ask the CLI people to pray for us.

I am deeply thankful that God allowed me to find CLI and able to study church planting ministry and I only have about 3 courses to get my bachelor degree in divinity but I intend to take many more classes outside the requirement to further my knowledge of the Greek and so on.

May the good Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus continue to bless CLI.

Christian Education Minister Training

Christian Education Minister Training

Christian Education Minister Training  – Greetings from Hong Kong!!! My name is Ailin Iwan, I am a naturalized American who moved to Hong Kong in 2012 to pursue a Ph.D. in an interdisciplinary of architecture and education, focusing on the Green School research. I am married to a local Hong Kong resident, Kenneth K.Y. Poon, in early 2015. We met in the United States when we both were still freshman in College and develop a long-term friendship before we started to date with each other in 2009. My husband is also a Christian and he is currently taking Christian Leaders Institute (CLI) courses. I recently completed my doctoral degree in December 2016 from the University of Hong Kong. I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia and migrated to the United States after high-school and pursued my higher education there: Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and minors in Business and City Planning from University of California Berkeley and Master of Arts specialized in Global Citizenship Education from San Francisco State University. I was working professionally as a Project Director of a Shopping Mall development in Fremont in which I translated the biblical theme to design (Body – Architecture; Mind – Landscaping; and Spirit – Lighting). I often believe that the Lord gives me talents in “developments” whether they are architectural projects, writings, or putting together events. I left the built environment industry due to unethical behaviors of some colleagues while at the same time I was contemplating a lot about the meaning of life. I often asked myself whether a good building design can be a solution to humanity’s problem? I found that designing a nice environment can only partially helping the community, but at the bottom line is always people’s problem. I taught children in several different preschools for several years, while pursuing a master degree in education as an effort to understand the root of societal problem. I learned that the early years to be important to form people’s perception in life and I feel the calling to continue in this path not only based on personal interest, but mostly based on a vision that I receive from the Lord.

I started to believe in Jesus Christ when I was in preschool at the age of 4, even though my parents and many of my paternal family members are Buddhist. It was through school that I learn about Christianity and about Jesus Christ who came to save our spirits and to restore our relationship with God. I was Baptist in a Catholic Church in 1997 in Indonesia and I undergone an immersion Baptism in a Christian Church in 2013 in Hong Kong. In my mid-twenty at the peak of my career in architecture, I received a spiritual dream of Jesus hugged me very warmly and the scenery behind us was a huge school that is white in colour. Ever since I received that dream, I feel that God has shown me the mission that I have to fulfill in my life-time that is to build Christian Schools for Him. I need Christian Education Minister Training at CLI.  Initially, I was interpreting this dream naively from the lens of my architecture background, I literally thought that I have to construct school buildings and I needed to learn more about the business aspects of it. Slowly but surely, the Lord guides me through giving me opportunities to complete my masters in educational field and a Ph.D. in an interdisciplinary of architecture and education. Apparently, there is more than the business side of building a school but there is the pedagogical, curriculum, teachers’ quality, classroom design, and so much more to consider. It has been more than 1 decade since I received that dream that has changed my career path. As I am writing this testimony, I am contemplating whether my encounter with CLI can also be interpreted as the direction from the Lord to fulfill the vision of building Christian Schools.

Christian Education Minister Training  Available

I learned about CLI from my spiritual mentor and a local church leader, Prof/Rev. James Pounder and his wife, Elaine Pounder, who are the founders of The Little Church World. I think that the approach of CLI to train Pastors and Bi-vocational Leaders to be crucial for our modern era whereas it is important to use the Internet as an effective evangelism tool. I am excited to learn more from CLI courses and also open for future collaboration with CLI because I hope to fulfill the mission from the Lord to build Christian Schools for Him. My husband and my family members are not Christians and our prayer requests will be for their salvation and also for us to fulfill the mission from God to build Christian Schools. At this moment, we do not know where is/are the location(s) for the Christian Schools or with whom we will collaborate to fulfil this vision. The only thing that I believe is that we continue to follow our callings to use God’s given talents to give glory to Him and to spread His gospels that can bring real salvations to others. I firmly believe Christian Schools as powerful tools to witness since I got evangelise through Christian school and as a former teacher, I know that children’s spirits are pure and they are more receptive to the gospel.
