Family Ministry Journey
My name is Craig Zahniser and I am on a family ministry journey. My ministry is to share my belief in Christ Jesus with my family as it was shared with me. I came to know the Lord through the faith and example of my parents and grandparents and I feel led to pass that faith to my children and grandchildren. My grandfathers were very different men. One was a Methodist minister and one was a steel worker. Both men had a deep love and understanding of Jesus Christ and taught me about Him all through my childhood. My grandmothers were examples of Godly women who loved and served the Lord with all their hearts. My father is a very talented musician who at 83 years old still serves in the music ministry of his church and my mother up until her death was a relentless witness for Christ in word and deed to everyone she encountered.
Recently my oldest grandson Justin asked me to officiate at his upcoming wedding and I happily agreed. I began researching how to become ordained and it quickly became apparent to me that most of the organizations that provided online ordination had nothing to do with faith in Jesus Christ. For a fee, you can become a legally ordained minister of this or that and be able to perform a wedding ceremony but I would have to agree to be part of a group that did not believe in the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ to do so. I absolutely could not and would not do that.
Even though I have believed in Jesus Christ since I was a child, I have not always set the best example for my family as was done for me. I believe the Lord is calling me to correct that on this family ministry journey of mine. I have 6 children, 19 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren most of whom will be present when I officiate at Justin and Allie’s wedding. I need them all to know how important faith in Jesus Christ is for their lives. I pray that they see through my actions in not taking the easy way of just paying for ordination but studying to become a Christian minister how much Jesus Christ means to me and how much I want the same for them. I don’t know what else the Lord would have me do once the wedding is over but I am open to doing His will whatever it may be.
Christian Leaders Institute has been very helpful in making me focus on what it means to minister to others and not focus solely on myself. I have for some time had a habit of daily Bible reading but I’m praying that through this ministry I will have the courage, compassion, and wisdom to share more about Jesus Christ with family and others around me. Please pray for me that my family understands the difference between being “spiritual” and the saving grace that comes from belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Thank you for this opportunity and may God bless you and this ministry.

Small Group Leader Call
My name is Shelly Primus and I have a small group leader call. I live in the United States. I am the youngest of three children. My father (who went home to be with the Lord on October 3, 2017) and my mother both grew up on farms in Pennsylvania where they were involved with their churches. My great-grandfather built the church that my father attended and it is still there today. My parents dedicated me to the Lord as a young child.
Our family attended church frequently at first but then we weren’t attending as often. Once I started attending High School I began down a different path. I began drinking alcohol to fit in with the crowd. I had family members who would come to my house and talk to me about Jesus, even though I was searching, the world had such a pull on me. One night I ended up in the ER with the doctors telling me and my parents that I had alcohol poisoning. Thank God for praying family members!
I met my husband, Trever Primus, in my early twenties and a few years later we started attending church. I received salvation in September of 1993. Jesus became my Lord and Savior and my whole life changed. I became so full of joy it was overwhelming, realizing what Jesus did for me by going to the cross and taking away my sins still brings tears to my eyes even now twenty-four years later.
My husband is a program manager for a ministry where we live in-house. As house parents, we encounter broken families that truly need the love of the Lord. I also have a deep desire to teach and encourage women from the Word and to minister to the brokenhearted. I have such a burden for women to know the love of the Savior and what they are worth in Christ (Titus 2:3-5).
I see myself as a small group leader. God is already opening doors with other women since I started Christian Leaders Institute. He has placed women who have been hurt and abused not just from the world but some of them from other churches also (Psalm 147:3).
My husband is the one who supports me the most, always encouraging me to listen to the Lord and go forward with what He is saying. I belong to a church where the pastor and his wife love the Lord and are very supportive and they are involved in the ministry we are in.
What a blessing CLI is! This is an answer to my prayers. With the opportunity for a scholarship at Christian Leaders Institute, it will help me in the ministry my husband and I are involved in now. I will be able to study the Word more in depth and to get the education to equip me to go forward in what the Lord is calling me to do in this small group leader call.
Please pray that I would know the Father’s perfect divine will for my life and that I would be obedient to do what the Lord is calling me to do to bring Him all the glory and honor.
