Evangelism Calling
My name is Belinda Adlam and I am following God in my evangelism calling. I’m 27 years of age and I have a 5-year-old daughter, two sisters and a mom. I was originally born and grew up in Zambia. I moved to South Africa in 2007 due to my father’s ill health as he needed proper medical attention. I am Zambian by birth and South African by decent. I went to school in Zambia up until grade 11 and my final year I completed in South Africa which was a challenge for me due to the difference in school syllabus.
From an early age, I attended a Pentecostal church with my mom. I used to watch my mom read her Bible, which caught my interest, and I learned from there. I had a desire to dig deeper into the word and learn. Due to that, I have always had a passion for teaching and felt my evangelism calling. Whenever I would be alone, I would picture myself sharing the word of God with people.
I went to boarding school and during the Easter weekends, we always had a 4-day retreat. Pastors from around the world would attend and preach during that time. I remember the first time I made a real commitment to become a Christ follower. I was 13 years old at that time and in eighth grade. There was an altar call and I stood up. There were a number of people that went to the front. We formed small groups of about 8, and the Pastors came around and started praying for us. They explained the hope we now have in Christ Jesus. From that day, I knew for sure that my decision came from the heart. I had previously prayed the sinner’s prayer, but I never really drew the line up until that day.
Moving to South Africa came as a big challenge for me and my family. We gave up everything in Zambia and only moved here with our suitcases. We stayed with my cousin for 7 years until I got a job in a bank. I finally managed to raise deposit money to get my family our own place as my mom and dad never worked all through those years. My dad suffered a number of strokes and was bedridden for 10 years and my mom had to nurse him until he passed on in 2015.
During those trying times, I lost my way. I met an unbeliever and I knew it was wrong to have a relationship with someone that was not a follower of Jesus. But, I went ahead and even moved in with him. My walk with God went shallow and I could feel it every day of my life. I tried sharing the word of God with him and prayed continually that he would come to the knowledge of Christ and accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior. However, he only criticized my beliefs. I knew I was living in sin and my life was miserable. I wanted us to get married legally so that we where living correctly under the right principles, but my partner never saw the significance of that.
My life finally changed when I almost lost my job. I was supporting my mom and sisters paying their rent as well as my own and the thought of losing my job scared me. During that time, I was praying like I have never prayed before in my life. It became significant to me then as I read the word in 1 Corinthians 7. I have read these scriptures before, but now the word came alive to me and God was directly speaking to me to leave this relationship. I saw that my relationship was hindering me from reaching greater heights in my Christian life. I finally made the decision to end my relationship and moved back in with my mom and sisters.
I have since then renewed my faith. I know that heaven and hell are real places people go to when they die, and I don’t want myself or anyone to end up in hell. Sharing the word to the lost souls has become profound to me in my evangelism calling.
I will be going on my first missionary journey to Swaziland in April 2018 with some members of my church. It is so exciting for me at this stage of my evangelism calling. Gaining a scholarship at Christian Leaders Institute will help me grow spiritually and improve my knowledge of God and the word of God. It will improve my confidence and help me gain boldness as I minister the word of God with authority and conviction.
I am grateful for the work that Christian Leaders Institute is doing and would love to be part of the school as I advance and moved forward along this new and exciting journey.

Pastor Bible Education
My name is Sean Peffer. My brothers call me Breakdown. I am currently serving as a Chaplain in a national MC and I am receiving pastor Bible education at CLI. I was born in Pittsburgh and I still live in western Pennsylvania. I came to know Jesus when I was still a child, my parents had us in church regularly. When I got saved, I believed that was all that I needed, you know, I had my ticket to heaven and I could just live my life however I wanted and would go there when it was over. So that is how I was living.
A few years ago, my family went through some very troubled times and the Holy Spirit started challenging the way I was thinking about these things. He started showing me all the work that needs to be done in His Kingdom. He started revealing the plans that he has for me and I started paying attention. He placed some people in my life to further His cause and placed me in a position to serve as a Chaplain. I want to be the best that I can be in service to Him. I want to be prepared to possibly serve as a Pastor later on if that is the way that I am lead.
I am active in my local church and I have a lot of close friends in ministry. We support each other. I believe that taking this ministry training through Christian Leaders Institute will help me to be a better witness to those around me, both believers and nonbelievers. Not only will this build my confidence by increasing my knowledge of the Bible and church history but also my ability to relate to people.
I like the way this course emphasizes your walk with God and also the many other relationships, spouse, family, church and so on. I do spend time in my Bible and in prayer every day but also see the need to increase that time.
I believe that the church as a whole is sitting right on the edge of a great revival. The Bible tells us that the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. I believe that God is right now calling out and qualifying a great many workers because time is running short, I believe that I am one of those being called.
I am very grateful to have found CLI for my pastor Bible education, having looked into similar training online I have been unable to find any that I could afford. One day, this just popped up in my newsfeed and even though I was skeptical, I am glad that I took the time to finish this class. I look forward to continuing on.

Minister Call Journey
My name is Maurice Kemp and I am on a minister call journey. I live in Pretoria, South Africa. I’m 23 years of age and married to my lovely wife Marlene Kemp. I grew up in a Christian family and we as a family went to church often, but I didn’t have a relationship with God. Life as a teenager became tough for me. I was never the boy who made trouble, but I was never the person who God wanted me to be. And at the age of 16, I gave my life to Christ. My life changed in a very good way, but it was never an easy road to walk. To be a Christian is the best road to walk but not the easiest.
I went on a few outreaches in South Africa with some of our church leaders in our church. When I was 17, God called me for church planting with a group of missionaries to Armenia. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. God showed me a lot, and I felt that I was called to full-time ministry in my life. After school, I did a Christian Potential and Character building year (Metamorpho) and God was busy working in my life.
After the Meta year, I went to an Adventure Lodge and started doing adventure camps with groups. That’s when I met my wife Marlene. I knew she was the one for me right from the start and we got married a year and a few months later. At that stage, I was working for her father and I was busy with my own stuff. Things didn’t work out for me and my wife on the farm and we moved to Pretoria.
After a few months in Pretoria, my wife and I started our own travel business. We felt strongly in our hearts that God was planning something amazing and very huge for us on this minister call journey. We struggled to find the right place where God wanted us. But God took us to the right place in the end, and we met amazing people. God used people from Christian Leaders Institute to encourage us to start our journey at CLI. I feel that God has a plan for me and my wife in full-time ministry. It’s really awesome to do the CLI course with my wife, and we pray and believe that God will guide us into the future and that we can learn from God and also from CLI. We LOVE JESUS and can’t wait to see what He has in store for us. Blessings!
