My name is Bridgette Robinson, and I live in the united states. We are free to choose our religion here, and most people in my area say they believe in Christ. I Raised in a Baptist church where my great-grandmother was my pastor, and I always knew God and Jesus. I went to church every Sunday since I was six years old with my grandparents! I listened to the word; I remembered scriptures and no matter what I went through God’s word was always in my head. Once I hit the age of 22 Things such as continuing college, relationships and friendships seemed to all be falling apart. I would always be praying for the person or the situation and reading scripture, but once again it was all in my head. But over the course of 1 month, I had lost some in my life and myself. I looked in the mirror and couldn’t understand how I got so far from God. I was in a season of complete humility and disappointment. But then I joined alpha, WOC, and Tuesday morning women’s group. They say counsel of the saints is crucial, it truly is! I suddenly realized that the scriptures and the sermons my pastor was preaching were changing my heart and spirit. Instead of knowing the way to live, love and follow Jesus in my head I now know in my heart! One of my favorite scriptures says “when I was a child I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child, when I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.” I taught Sunday school at my home church in Baltimore and later worked for the children’s ministry at my new home church. I chose to pursue divinity as a lifestyle because nothing gives me more joy and satisfaction than learning about our father God and Jesus Christ, and then sharing it with others. Doing this is my ministry dream! I haven’t decided whether I will be a pastor, evangelist, or anything specific I’m just waiting on God to lead me further into his will for me.My local church supports my ministry dream by giving me a chance to lead Sunday school and start my home group for young women. A scholarship to CLI is a beautiful opportunity. I have attempted to attend multiple bible colleges and other colleges as well, but I either couldn’t afford tuition, or the whole program wasn’t entirely online. I’m currently a 24/7 caretaker for my grandmother who is sickly, so I’m not even able to work a part-time job. I feel so blessed to have found CLI, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who donates funds to us, the founders, the professors and the administration team. I look forward to learning more about divinity and receiving the tools I need to bring others to Christ. Thank you, CLI!
Prison Ministry Calling
My name is Erik Van Cise and I have a prison ministry calling. I live in central Florida. I moved here at a young age from Ohio. Central Florida is a great area to grow in the spirit and help others. I have recently been born again as a Christian.
Soon after my family moved to Florida when I was at a young age, my parents got divorced. Not long after their divorce, my father fell deep into drug addictions. His addictions led him to prison. While in prison, he was saved. When he came home, he joined a prison and jail ministry and started doing a drug counseling class at a local church. He tried to get me to go with him but I was reluctant to join him.
I began to struggle with drug addictions myself. I was constantly in trouble with the law. As a juvenile, I was sentenced to 11 months in a juvenile program. As an adult, I did several jail bids and ultimately ended up in a faith-based rehab center where I found the Lord.
I see myself as an evangelist and a church planter. My spiritual dream is to start my own jail and prison ministry. I also would like to start an addictions ministry. I plan on opening up my own faith-based rehabilitation programs and halfway houses. Christian Leaders Institute is helping to make my dreams come true. This ministry training program is truly a blessing from God. A scholarship is important to me so I can get the training I feel is necessary to pursue my goals. I look forward to every day and where the Lord is taking me on my spiritual journey in this prison ministry calling.
