Minister Training Call
My name is Dora Lou Vanscoy and I have a minister training call. I am from the state of Arkansas in the United States of America. I came to know the Lord after a turbulent childhood and dabbling in the wrong side. I was invited to a Christian concert at a church a friend attended. I was sitting on the floor and felt someone push me. I looked around and there was no one there. It happened again and I realized it was the Holy Spirit. So, I went to the altar call and gave my life. I would like to say I was faithful. But I was not decided and did not have a clue how to live. For many years, it was up and down, but He never left me and now I am at a point where I have a very intimate relationship with Him.
My ministry dream is to ensure others are discipled and not left to fend for themselves. I also have a heart for children, to show them Jesus and simply love them. This class at Christian Leaders Institute is renewing my desire to be part of a ministry team. I believe I identify more with an evangelist.
I would have to say the key experience prompting me into ministry would be the fact that I was not discipled and I believe if someone had taken time to show me the ropes, I would not have stumbled in my walk so much.
The unique challenges that I have to face are that so many people call themselves Christians but it is just a word to them. They do not know Jesus personally. My local church is all for discipling people and growing people so we can bring more into the fellowship. My family has pretty well been non-existent in my life, except for my Christian family, and they are very supportive. We as a whole, encourage and motivate each other to do all God would have us do.
This scholarship at CLI is important to my ministry dream because I know I could not afford to go to college. This is a huge blessing for me.

Preacher Ministry Training
I am Michael Gwandure and I am receiving free preacher ministry training at Christian Leaders Institute. I was born in Zimbabwe in the early 80s to a Christian family. I grew up accustomed to Christianity in the Anglican Church and I was baptized at the age of 12. I attended the catechism class during the same year in preparation for confirmation.
In 2000, I volunteered to teach Sunday School classes at my parish in Glen View Harare, even though at that time I did not have a Bible. I would research for good Bible stories from other sources until I realized that what I was doing was child evangelism which basically requires me to undergo Bible studies to have a better knowledge of how and what to teach the children.
During my tenure as a Sunday school teacher, I was assigned to train more teachers at my church due to the fact that I was training the youngsters to be the church of tomorrow. As a Sunday school teacher, I was a happy man because most of the youngsters grew to be child evangelists. I am still happily grooming more children to grow up in Christ.
At the present, I am employed by a leading automotive player in Zimbabwe as a Logistics and Stores assistant. My dream is to be trained to become an ordained preacher who is able to serve the Lord and bring more souls to Christ. I discovered that I can be a good shepherd when I was given an opportunity to lead a small church. I have a passion for preaching the gospel to the people and I believe that God wants to use me that way since He has gifted me as a preacher and evangelist. My dream used to be to become an electrician, but God keeps on calling me to work in His field for His glory.

Servant Minister
Hello, my name is Dora Holmes and I am called to be a servant minister. I live in the mountain community of Lake Arrowhead, CA, USA. I am married and have four children. The area I live in is beautiful. There are numerous churches here in my area and I attend Church of The Woods. I have recently come back to the Lord, my Savior Jesus Christ, through some very dark times in my life. My mother was raised in the church, as her father was a Pastor. In turn, we were also brought up in church. I left the church when I was 13 and was back and forth most of my life. It was just a few months ago, when I was reading about Moses in the Wilderness, that it hit me… “I have been wandering around in my own wilderness for 40 years (I am 40)”.
Taking these classes at Christian Leaders Institute has been such a blessing to me and my family. I have learned so much, been tested a lot, and have seen more in my life that needs the Lord more than ever. I feel so blessed that CLI has allowed me to start my full journey with the Lord and be accountable in my life for what I am called to do.
For a long time, I have felt the need, the focus, and the dream to help people and animals. I always go back to the Bible and hear the words spoken, Help your Brethren. Help the poor and needy. I do see people, but I also see many animals in our world who are needy and desire our help.
To me ministry is not just about being a pastor, it is about being a servant of the Lord, a servant minister, through all that I do, say, create, and the lives I encounter. I desire to have eyes to see and ears to hear. I would love to be a part of planting new churches, being with the youth, and helping small group studies, or even be a part of missionary work.
I am very blessed to have the Lord’s church in my life. They have been so supportive and Dana, who works with the children, has agreed to be one of my mentors! I have spoken to them about the Scholarship class CLI offers, and they are thrilled! This scholarship means so much to me. Without it, I would not be able to pursue the ministry work I know I am called to do.
I am so grateful to the Lord, my Heavenly Father, for guiding me here to CLI. I pray that all of us, no matter where we are in our lives, are all touched by the Holy Spirit, to help us speak the Word of Truth. God’s Word is everlasting, never changing, and promises us the riches of His Kingdom, through Jesus Christ our Savior and King!
