Robust Biblical Education

Robust Biblical Education

My name is Iyere Eigbadon and I am pursuing a free robust Biblical education.  I currently live in Lagos, Nigeria. I began to study the Bible at the age of five with my uncle. From my childhood, I have been involved in the things of God in one form or the other. At the age of nine, I made a verbal heartfelt commitment to the Lord Jesus at the prompting of a house fellowship leader who was impressed with my zeal for the Lord. Then I was baptized in water the following year.

As a result of my zeal and my work for the Lord, during my teenage years, I had strong opposition to my faith from a relative that I lived with. This though only strengthened my resolve to serve the Lord. However, in my later teens, I had my faith tested with temptations common with youth. Although I never strayed too far from the Lord, it was a season of backsliding nonetheless. I later rededicated myself to the Lord and His work and was very active during my university days. Sadly, this impacted my grades negatively. What I lacked then was proper mentorship and leadership from those older in the faith to train me in burning for the Lord and excelling academically also. In other words, finding the proper balance and focus that truly glorified God. Thankfully, this is one thing that characterizes the Christian Leaders Institute.

For about nine years now, I have been involved in ministry among the youth. My passion has been to be a responsible mentor steering them in the path that results in a truly fruitful relationship with the Lord, their parents, fellow believers and being fruitful in their life goals. It has been quite a challenge as there are conflicting images available to them of what a relationship with God ought to look like. Quite a number of ministries are involved with the youth and many of them seem to take advantage of the zeal of the young. They want to drive the growth of their ministries at the expense of the other things that will make for success in the lives of these young ones. This is sad as they are so impressionable.

My ministry dream is to give God my best, trusting Him to use it as He sees fit to change the landscape of ministry among the youth in my country. There is a proliferation of churches in Nigeria, yet far too many of us do not reflect the character of Christ. The focus of our pursuit of God, for the most part, is for personal enrichment. When one interacts with the average person on the street, it is obvious that the general impression of the gospel that they have is what is known as the “health and wealth gospel.” This was not the case in our country as little as twenty-five years ago. I know this because it is my story and the story of many others around my age that I know.

The impact of laboring in the things of God, yet coming to realize that I was not doing His will as revealed in his Word led me to do a lot of searching in the scriptures. I kept looking and studying because I was determined not to repeat the same mistakes. I realized that the root of these problems was that too many who started ministry did not take the time to truly understand the things that Jesus commanded us. So we end up presenting a different message and modeling a different life which is not like Christ’s. My studies in Scripture had been an entirely personal effort, but I came to see the need for some specialized training in a robust biblical education that can only be found in a good seminary. I, however, cannot currently afford the tuition of traditional schools. Thankfully, the Lord providentially led me to the Christian Leaders Institute and I am grateful for it. I really look forward to being a Vision partner so that many more like me will enjoy this opportunity at a free robust Biblical education at CLI.

Spiritual Walk

Spiritual Walk With God

“To God be the glory great things He hath done. Glory to His name.” My name is Kay Williams and this is my spiritual walk with God.

I live in Mandeville, Jamaica. I am the second of five siblings. My grandmother, mother, aunt, and cousin are the prayer warriors of the family. At an early age, I feared God and wanted to serve Him. I made many promises to God, but they were not fulfilled because of the pleasures of this world. I would visit crusades, baptismal services, and witnessed the movement of God in the congregation, but I still did not accept Him as my personal Saviour.

When I attended high school, I was a member of the Inter-School Christian Fellowship (ISCF). I was a member of the school choir and children’s choir at church. I didn’t commit my life fully to God, but I was God-fearing because I was raised in a Christian home. In 1994, I  was accepted to a Business College. Little did I know that God had a plan for my life because I kept making promises to Him. In the second semester of College, I took sick and was unable to continue my studies. Jesus got a hold of me and I could not get out of His hand. Jesus was there just in time to rescue me. I was baptized and I committed my whole life to Him and started my spiritual walk with God. In 2000, I continued my studies where I got my Diploma in Secretarial Studies.

I became the member of a small church in my community and was the Secretary and Sunday School teacher. In my early years, I had a passion for teaching. In 2012, I got my Diploma in Primary Education. Through many challenges and spiritual warfare, I have decided to teach the Word of God instead. The Lord has delivered me from so many dangers. I was robbed so many times and thank God I am still alive. The harvest is ripe but the laborers are few. I want to be a laborer for God to teach his Word.

I want to give up everything for God and to teach people to read and understand the Bible. But first, I think getting a Bible education is necessary and very important. I went online in search of a free Bible school. While searching, God led me to this site and I am very thankful to Him. I read about CLI and was relieved to learn about your tuition-free courses. Getting a scholarship with Christian Leaders Institute (CLI) will help tremendously in my spiritual walk with Christ. I will be more confident and equipped to impart the Word of God with a Diploma or Degree to show that I am a trained Christian Leader in ministry.

Pastor Training Blessings

Pastor Training Blessings

Hello and many blessings in the Name of Jesus Christ! My name is James Johnson and I am receiving pastor training blessings as I study at Christian Leaders Institute. I live in San Angelo, Texas in the United States of America. I was born and lived my earliest childhood in a small town in east Texas. We had a neighborhood church that influenced me greatly in that I learned early about God and living in a godly manner. Sadly, the neighborhood church moved to another part of town. My family then attended a Baptist church outside the immediate neighborhood but still close by. However, this church did not have the strong impact on the neighborhood that the earlier church did. When I was between seven and eight years old, my family eventually moved out of the area but not before a noticeable decline in the neighborhood.

The location of my family’s new house was not close to any church. My mother and father divorced and attended different Baptist churches. We were required to attend a church on Sundays so my older brother found a nearby Primitive Baptist Church. They had few weekly services other than Sunday, and they started early and ended early. He and I attended this church when they had services so we would be close to home and able to be the first to the swimming pool during the summer. This church closed and then we were required to attend my mother’s  Baptist church.

At the age of eleven, my family changed churches again. I attended this church from the age of ten until about the age of sixteen when I witnessed some ugly and seemingly ungodly business meetings and other behavior that made me question the church. I met a family and was invited to the Church of Christ, it was just up the street from my home. This was a much smaller and much more serious church and it was there that I was baptized and received the Holy Spirit at the age of sixteen. It was also there that I began to walk with the Lord and my life changed.

My ministry dream is to share the Word of God without denominational restraints. I believe our churches and communities grow weak for lack of the Word of God being taught. His Holy Word needs to be unleashed. One of the pastor training blessings I see is the heavy dosage of scripture in this first course at CLI. It has renewed my desire to walk with God in spreading His Word to all communities.

I mostly identify as a Pastor and Teacher. A pastor because two large churches I and my wife attended closed after internal strife. And most of the leadership and members walked away leaving large debts. My family and several others stayed and paid those debts because it was the right thing to do. While there, I was asked to lead by the remaining members. I preached and taught weekly and loved it. I also learned to love those in attendance. I was asked by the leadership about ministry before the church broke up, but I felt others were more qualified than myself. When I did purse going to a local seminary health issues interfered. I have since been able to take and complete quite a few Bible courses and classes that have increased my knowledge and abilities. These pastor training blessings are being continued here at CLI.

I believe the big challenge for my area is the teaching of God’s Word without political motivation, cultural acceptance and/or other man-made conditions. People need to hear what God says, what He expects and what He accepts. This may very well require a new church plant so I will not rule that out.

My local church has been supportive of my efforts, however many are not aware of my endeavors but they are aware of my passion for the gospel and teaching and learning. My wife of thirty-three years shares my passion for spreading the Word of God.

A study scholarship with Christian Leaders Institute would be a big pastor training blessing and it would help me become ordained to move forward with preaching God’s Word.
