Life Testimony
Hello, my name is Kelley and this is my life testimony. I am thirty – six years old. I grew up in the United States of America in South Jersey. I was raised Roman Catholic with two loving parents and I am the baby of five children. While growing up, my life was great. I was never in want or need for anything. In my adolescent years, I was sexually assaulted by six guys on the way home from school one day. This caused me to be rebellious. I was doing all the things that kids at that age shouldn’t have been doing. I graduated high school and did some college.
I moved to California and began a new life there for myself. I was self-sufficient in an amazing job. I had a car and my own place. All was good until I got a call stating that my father was diagnosed with lung cancer and had less than a year to live. I made a choice to go back to New Jersey to spend his last moments with him and the family. Upon coming back, it was very hard to see my father in such bad shape, and I didn’t know how to cope with it. I began using drugs to numb the pain. My father’s passing was extremely difficult for me and this began a downward spiral that became so unmanageable I eventually had to seek help for it.
I left the state and moved to New York. There, I sought help from a Christian counseling facility for a year and rebuilt my relationship with God and Jesus. I now stand firm in my faith in my life. I enjoy helping people and am a big encourager. I plan to travel the world to help the lost and spread the good news. Finding Christian Leaders Institute is a blessing for me. I look forward to seeing how and where God will use me in and for His Kingdom.

Christian Leaders Ministry Education
My name is Albert George and I am receiving a Christian Leaders ministry education at CLI. I was born in Jamaican Queens, New York. I currently live in Staten Island, New York. My wife and I have four daughters. I am a Deacon at True Light Ministry in Brooklyn, NY. It was a wonderful feeling when I started back to church. I was able to be part of the school board of directors helping make decisions for the young people at the Bible Speaks Academy. I also enjoyed talking to people in the community to help involve them in the success of the youth in the community. I am currently in a different setting trying to help build the membership of a church that restarted October 2016.
As a child, I started out in a Baptist church. Later in my childhood, my family converted to Catholicism. I went to a Catholic school for a period of time and had my First Holy Communion, and Confirmation. I also served as an Altar Boy. I knew the Lord from a young man and always maintained my belief in him but started to drifted in my teen years.
The Lord has taken me through many obstacles in my life: Refusing dialysis for four years before my kidney transplant; two spine operations; two shoulder replacements plus 5 other shoulder operations; Five more operations; and many other things. With all that I have been through God still allowed me to work two full-time jobs and maintain a family.
During my life from age 16 to 54, I lived life out of the church (in the world), not being changed until I was 54 years old. At age 54, I was invited to a service at the Bible Speaks and I listened to the pastor (Dr. Willis Moses). As Pastor Moses was preaching to me, GOD spoke to ME and said this is where you should be. I have been going to church almost every Sunday and participating in other events ever since. I would like for my wife Jennifer and me to allow the Lord to use us and to build a ministry to spread and teach the word of Christ.
I am an average reader and read the Bible daily, but there is something missing in my journey to serve Christ. The free ministry training from Christian Leaders Institute (CLI) is VERY important for me. Otherwise, I would not be able to obtain the teaching that I need to learn and grow so I can spread the word of Christ. At this time, a free Christian Leaders ministry education would allow me to complete all my goals. Thank you, CLI.

Divorce Care Ministry
My name is Sharon Marie Menor and I am called to a divorce care ministry. I reside in the small town of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin in the USA. Doing ministry in this country is hard, especially if you have a not so pretty past. I came to know the Lord at the age of 13. I gave my life to Him at a Nicky Cruz crusade. My ministry dream was to become a teacher. I achieved that goal when I was called to teach Sunday school at the age of 16. But, after only six months in this ministry, the board of Deacons at my church decided that I wasn’t “old enough” to pursue my calling as a teacher. So they told me I couldn’t do it any longer. My feelings at the time were “how dare you to tell me I am not old enough to teach God’s word.” So I rebelled against my parents and the church and said I would never go back to a place that questioned my love and devotion for teaching the word of God. I didn’t want any part of the hypocrisy of “go forth and teach” and then to be told no you can’t teach you’re too young. I was hurt and angry that God and man could take away my ministry of teaching, but it really had nothing to do with God taking it away.
I spent many years on the spiritual fence. I knew right from wrong, I knew what God wanted me to do, but I didn’t listen. I kept thinking back to that time where I was happy and serving God only to have some men tell me I couldn’t. After several failed marriages and relationships, God led me back to the place where my life began and told me to try again. He told me it would all be different: “Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do what I have called you to do. I have a special place for you. You have a job to do for me.” Thirty-two years after the “church incident”, I found myself standing in the same church that I vowed never to go back to, praying, “God I’m here. Show me what you want me to do. You brought me back here for a reason.”
This class at Christian Leaders Institute has renewed my faith and taught me that I do have a purpose in God’s eyes. The words that I identify with the most are a Small Group Leader. God brought me through what I called the hell of four failed marriages to teach me that I can be healed in all aspects of my life and that I can connect with others through the lessons He taught me. Thus, when the opportunity came up to be a part of the divorce care ministry team, I finally realized what God’s plans were for me.
The chance to further my calling through the Christian Leaders Institute study program has made a tremendous impact on my life. If it were not for the scholarship program I would not be able to get the proper degree that I really want in my Christian life.
