Why I Am Studying At CLI
My name is Doris Brinkman. I’m from the Netherlands, from a small village up in the north, called Noordhorn.
Ministry
I’ve been into Teen Ministry, together with my wife, for a few years. Later on, we both were involved in the worship ministry (musician.) My wife was in Sunday-school teaching and I’ve been teaching Bible classes and preaching. Over the years we’ve been involved in several churches and Evangelical congregations.
As a child, I grew up in a Reformed (Gereformeerd, NL) environment. At the age of 14, I became a born-again believer and was baptized in a Pentecostal church. Later on, I became a member of an “Independent Baptist Church” and got involved in church-planting and these days we are (again) visiting a Baptist Church. We are also involved in an online ministry, called Yarah Ministries. It distributes free Bible courses (PDF, MP3-format) online.
My Spiritual dream to be able to continue the road we’ve been given to follow.
You ask what events humble you to realize that you needed Christ in your life? And my reply is that “Too many to mention I’m afraid! Every day I discover “I can’t do it on my own!”
I hope to gain at Christian Leaders Institute more “formal” education, but I also hope to learn and obtain new insights. I love to learn from others who have more experience and have a vision. CLI has a clear ministry training vision and it’s a vision I support and share. I hope to be more capable of extending the work of our small online ministry and perhaps extend it to “offline” (again) but for that, some things need to be arranged (time, co-workers). At this moment “the workers are few” in our region.
To go through a full ministry training is very expensive. I simply cannot afford that. I’m not in need of totally free training. In fact, I’d be happy to donate to CLI at some point. What made CLI so interesting, as an educational institution for me, is that I don’t need to pay a whole lot of money upfront, only to find out that the courses and time-schedule don’t fit or a program is canceled before I finish it and also that it’s available online. There aren’t many if any that are set up the way CLI is with a clear ministry training vision and for free. Now I can study in between other work and (family) obligations. That’s just perfect for me.

Bible Education Call
What A Mighty God We Serve!
Hello, my name is George DeWitt and I live in the United States. I was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 8, 1967, and am 51 years young now. I have answered the Bible education call I felt in recent years.
I grew up in foster homes going from one home to another so I didn’t have much religion when I was young. I was put in the foster system when I was one year old and my sister was two years old. They separated us when we got in there although we still had meetings to see one another. When I was 12, I was able to go back home to my mother. They pretty much could not control me. I grew up to be a young man living the way I wanted to with a bad drinking problem.
I was asked time and time again to come to church, so I finally gave in and went. I sat down in the back of the church. I was not really listening when I was overshadowed by something I never felt or knew before. I remember the preacher preaching about the old rugged cross and how a man named Jesus left His heavenly home to take my place and pay a price He didn’t owe. Because of His blood, we can be washed white as wool. I heard that when He died, his body was put in a grave and then three days later He rose and won the victory. What a mighty God we serve! Anyway, the Holy Spirit started dealing with me, and I gave my heart and life to Jesus.
I have been saved now for 25 years. I started teaching Sunday school, then I was a deacon of the local church, and then God called me to be a Pastor. I have been preaching for 21 years and did some jail ministry as well. I went to Mexico on a mission trip and three times to Jamaica. I have had many opportunities to serve. I have been pastoring for seven years now in the mountains I love in North Carolina.
One day about six years ago, I got cancer in my throat. It was stage 3 and I had radiation and chemo, and I’m still here by the Grace of God. The enemy tried to destroy me, but God is in control!
I have done these few things and I wanted to get more education. I have a desire to study, in fact, I love to study. I have been so blessed in my Bible education call with Christian Leaders Institute. Thank you so much, I love and believe in your ministry.

Ministry Life Training
My name is Viktoriya Gromova, and I am receiving ministry life training at CLI. I currently live in the United States of America in Washington state. I was born in Russia in 1986. My family and I moved to this state at the end of 2008. I am from a Christian family of 9. I was attending the church since I was a little girl. Here in the states, there’s no persecution, so it is easy to do the ministry. It’s not easy to find enough time with the schedules we all have here.
The Lord touched me for the first time during the prayer night when I was 12 years old. I was baptized with the Holy Spirit. Because I have three kids, I feel it’s the right area for me to be in a kids’ ministry. I want our kids’ ministry to be like a loving family where they can trust, learn how to serve the Lord and each other.
This first class showed me a lot of different areas that I didn’t know. How important it’s to have a mentor, how to be a mentor, and how to overcome the temptations while you a leader. I see myself as a youth pastor. Maybe a pastor in the future. The key experience that prompted me to find and study at Christian Leaders Institute is that I want to be an effective and knowledgeable leader.
My church is very supportive of me and my ministry dream. They are pleased I am studying at Christian Leaders Institute to be a pastor. My family is supportive of me too. I love my family roles as wife to my husband and mother to my kids. To be an example of a praying, loving, serving, and supportive mother and wife is crucial to me.
This free ministry training online is very important because without it I would not be able to get the ministry training and biblical education I need. Thank you, CLI, for this opportunity!
