Motorcycle Community Chaplain

Motorcycle Community Chaplain

My name is Philip Head, and I am called to be a motorcycle community Chaplain. I am 68 years of age and from the Duchy of Cornwall in Great Britain. Here I am, Lord!

Once upon a time, Britain was a Christian country, but that has changed. Many laws here embrace sin. There is also much opposition to Christianity, to the Name of Jesus Christ, and the truth. Many are readily pulled away to paganism and other forms of idol worship. There is a need for people grounded in the true faith and the Word of God. Christian Leaders Institute is enabling me to grow in knowledge and stature, and developing the structures necessary for God to use me better.

My Journey to God

As I grew up, I went to an Anglican Church. I sang in the choir, played the church organ, and served on the altar (not all at the same time) – but I was far away from God. In my 20s, I became a Roman Catholic and was indeed an excellent Catholic. But my lifestyle was one of sin. I was far from God.

My first career was in the Royal Army Medical Corps, where I served for 24 years from the age of 16. While in service in London (36 years of age then), a colleague, a fellow soldier, invited me to church. It was a meeting of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International (FGB). I heard the gospel for the first time, prayed a ‘sinner’s prayer’ and invited Jesus into my life to be my Lord and Saviour.

My life changed from that very moment. Foul language from my mouth was no more. I was acutely aware of my sin and immediately set about changing my lifestyle. Don’t misunderstand me – I not saying that I’m perfect. God is still working on me every day of my life, but my attitude and my approach to life are incredibly different now.

Motorcycle Community Chaplain Calling

In 2015, at the age of 64 years, I started learning to ride a motorcycle. Now, biking has me hooked. My hope and dream are to become a Chaplain to the motorcycle communities here in the Duchy of Cornwall. The biking community is extraordinary, as all who ride are aware of how vulnerable we are. There is much need for somebody to draw alongside fellow bikers, be a listening ear, and conduct marriages and funerals. Lord, use me if you will!

As I am now retired, and my income is low, training with CLI enables me to train without any financial obstacle. However, praise God, I am currently able to make a monthly payment to CLI as a Vision Partner. Having the opportunity to train in ministry without going into debt is essential for me. Thank you, CLI. Thank you, Lord!

Bible College Training

Free Bible College Training

Hi! My name is Nuala Bass, and I am receiving free Bible college training at CLI. I’m from Dublin in Ireland. I have been attending Liberty Community Church for 11 years. Being a Christian leader in Ireland can be a challenge at times. When you mention God, people go to “religion” and close their ears. However, God is moving in our country, and He never gives up.

I grew up knowing God from an early age. My mum brought my siblings and me to church every Sunday and to other events in the church. So, it was a lifestyle for me. We moved with my dad and sister to England, where we lived for five years. I lived there from the ages of three to eight years old. At that time, I went to Perry Wise Baptist Church. When we came back to Ireland, we went to Drimnagh Methodist Church. After that, we went to the Church of the Nazarene in Greystones. Finally, we settled in Liberty for 11 years now. I also got baptized on the 7th of February in 2010, along with my husband and oldest daughter.

Some Important Events in My Life

When I was eight, all I wanted was a Bible. I knew that it was essential to understand who God is. When I was back in Ireland, Billy Graham came, and I remember giving my life to Jesus. As a child, I always knew that God would never let me down. I was obedient to him.

My dad was an alcoholic and was violent, so there were some scary times. When he was not drinking, he would be giving the best advice, and you felt so safe. He passed away on 06/11/2018. He knew God, and his favorite saying in his later life was “by the grace of God.” I had a brother who died of suicide on 17/03/10. My family has not been the same since. I know he is with God as God let me know. This time brought my relationship with God to the next level, as this was important heart stuff that I was giving him.

My Spiritual Dream and Free Bible College Training

My spiritual dream is that all my family will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
The obstacles I faced going into maturity was me. I was told by God what he wanted me to do, and I put different things in my way. I wasn’t good enough to be used by God. If I put myself out there, I put myself down and said I shouldn’t be doing this. I didn’t know that Satan was in my ear. So, instead of listening to what God says about me, I was listening to Satan. I have grown in the last few years in myself and my walk with Christ. Now, I feel spiritually ready to study the scriptures and to take it in.

Out of this free Bible college training at Christian Leaders Institute, I want to share with others how to walk in freedom with Jesus Christ and do God’s work. I have four daughters: Niamh (18), Lyndsey (15), Rachel (11), and Lydia-Judith (3). My amazing husband loves and supports me in whatever I do. He is the head of our household with God at the top. I cannot afford Bible college, so the free ministry training at CLI helps me learn the scriptures and how to disciple and lead others to Christ.

Called to Mission Ministry

Called to Mission Ministry in Liberia

My name is Helena Dunbar, and I am called to mission ministry. I am married to Winston Dunbar, and we have four daughters and a host of acquired children also in Africa. When my father died when I was 14, I experienced the presence of God. I heard, “I am the Lord thy God. Thou shall have no other god but me. For I am a jealous God.” (Exodus 20:2,3,5). That scared the grief out of me but served as a calming, peaceful, and strengthening time throughout my life. Therefore, I always think of Him in times of trial.

My Life Journey

I am a Deaconess in my church, serving communion and participating in various activities.
I must confess that there were trials and tribulations. However, I knew to call on Jesus and wait through the pains. I had an agreement with Him from the hymn that “this too will pass.” It was just a matter of when. He always came through, whether it took days, weeks, months, or years. We smiled or laughed out loud together in the Spirit.

I  lived more of my life in the USA than I did in my birth county of Liberia, West Africa. I came to the United States in 1980 right after the Civil War in Liberia, where my uncle was one of the 13th government officials executed on poles. It was a sad time for the whole nation. Every man, woman, or child was affected during the entire civil unrest. I prayed to return to help in some way. I didn’t have money but remembered that “God will supply all your needs according to His riches in heaven.” You have to step out in faith, and it was a remarkable and crying experience to see the manifestation of God.

Called to Mission Ministry and Ministry Education at CLI

My calling is to return to minister to the children in the church and school in Liberia. I want to build a foundation for them to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Great things He has done, more important things He will do in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I have been praying and searching for about nine years to find a free online school to continue my Christian education. I can only attribute finding CLI to my God as christianleadersinstitute.org popped up. It was love at first sight. I appreciate and thank Rev. Henry Reyenga, the professors, and the staff for being Kingdom Builders with a great passion for Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord!
