Biblical Continuing Education

Biblical Continuing Education for a Christ-centered Counselor

Greetings. I’m Cyndy Adeniyi, wife, mother, licensed professional counselor, author, and, most importantly, a follower of Jesus Christ. Biblical continuing education at CLI is a blessing for me. I live and serve Jesus Christ south of Atlanta, Georgia. My family and I worship at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.

Baptism and Growing in Christ

I was brought up in a Christian home and was baptized at a young age. I knew that I loved God and that Jesus died for my sins. However, at that age, I also believed that when you got baptized, Jesus washed your sins away, and you would never sin again. I thought I would be perfect, like my parents. As you can imagine, I quickly realized my baptism “didn’t work” the way I thought it would. I spent the next few years continually repenting of sins known and unknown, fearing that I might die with one unconfessed thought or deed and pay an eternal price for it.

I was nearing adolescence when I began to understand the Gospel. In high school, God sent a friend into my life. He demonstrated through his own life that Jesus needed to be more than my Savior; He also needed to be my Lord. This time is when I began to see my life change. I now had a hungering for the Word and a hungering for Truth.

Learning More

In college, I continued to pursue God. I wanted to know Him for myself and to be able to explain why I believed what I believed. I wanted to know that my faith was indeed authentic and not a mere reflection of my parents’ faith.

This desire led to much study and exploration of various denominations and worship experiences. This exploration culminated in attending Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary for an MA in Counseling Ministry. Then, several years later, I attended Amridge University for a DMin in Family Therapy. My dissertation focused on trauma and the ability of those who have experienced child sexual abuse to have healthy spiritual lives later.

Biblical Continuing Education at CLI

It’s been several years since I graduated last, and I miss formal education. So, I’m here at Christian Leaders Institute to give some structure to my efforts to know and live God’s truth. Counseling is hard work, and I want to be able to do it well. That means taking Biblical continuing education classes at CLI.

God is leading me to work with women who are struggling with emotional and relationship problems. After five years of building a private practice (Out of the Woods LLC), I have opportunities to move beyond one on one counseling and reach more of my sisters in Christ through the power of the web. I also have a passion for outdoor ministry, and I am always open to opportunities to combine counseling and the enjoyment of God’s creation.

Become a chaplain

Become Ordained to Chaplaincy – My Chaplain Journey

This woman of God has answered the call to become ordained to chaplaincy through Christian Leaders Insitute. Read her story.

Here is my Chaplain journey from self-destruction to a called leader. I am a 39-year-old woman originally from California. Currently, I live in Pawleys Island, SC. Studies on the word of God are what I enjoy doing daily. At one time, I was on a destructive path in life and didn’t care about anything or anyone. I had an experience that awakened my spirituality. I was on life support from a failed suicide attempt. But still, I didn’t believe nor wanted to accept Jesus, so I felt I’d lean toward Wicca.

Self-destructive Path Led to God

God kept calling me, but I continued to drift further away. Life got so bad, and I was so unhappy after many more failed suicide attempts. Finally, I yielded to the call of God after he healed me entirely of hepatitis C (suicide was not working, so I thought getting infected would undoubtedly do the trick). I refused to take meds for brain infection so that I would die from the disease, and yet the next MRI showed no more mastoiditis in the brain. I was addicted to pills as well, and God delivered me from that. Next, my mental problems such as schizophrenia/schizoaffective, and much more were all gone!!! God changed my life, so I said to God, I give!

I decided He had a plan for me. I want to say to other people who struggle and doubt, “He has a plan for you. If you would humble yourself and search for the truth, you will find it! There is a war going on that you can’t see, but it’s real. God is real, and his Son is real! Religion will get you nowhere. Only a relationship with God through his Son Jesus will get you through. Seek God! He wants to show himself to you, but you need to let go of the anger, bitterness, and unforgiveness. Then you will have peace so you can heal again. Never be ashamed of where you have been because your story can help save a soul! It’s a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, not a religion!”

Answering God’s Call and Studying at CLI – Become Ordained to Chaplaincy

When I found out about Christian Leaders Institute on my Chaplain journey, I set out to do something with my life. All the years I thought were wasted were building blocks. The mistakes, the hurts, and the loss have made me a better me. God is going to use me to be a blessing to others. Christian Leaders Institute is helping me reach the goal of becoming a chaplain.

It wasn’t until recently that I realized everything I was learning and accomplishing was only causing the outside to improve. However, my relationship with Jesus Christ was lacking. Christian Leaders Institute helped me see that. So now, I am in the relational track with Christ Jesus, rather than just having a religion.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Christian Leaders Institute. I hope my story will help others seek there calling. After completing many study hours and courses, I’m looking to God for direction on where to go next. I am excited to see what God has planned for me.

Become Ordained to Chaplaincy with the  Christian Leaders Alliance

The Deacon Minister Ordination with Christian Leaders Alliance is the first step. Next, I will seek the associate Chaplain minister ordination. After this, I still intend on taking more courses while I do some fieldwork as a volunteer at a nursing home. Only time will tell what God has in store for my future. Thank you, CLI!

Free Ministry Courses Online

My Journey to Free Ministry Courses Online

My name is Tyler Nurse, and I am taking free ministry courses online at CLI. I am a veteran of the United States Air Force and served as a Security Forces Airman stationed in Florida. I am from North Carolina and moved back here with my lovely wife, Scarlet. Currently, we live here with our two amazing little boys. Our oldest is three, and our baby was just born at the end of the summer. God has answered our prayers. Our children are great blessings from the Lord.

Life Changes

My transition out of the military was a difficult time for my family. My wife has been able to better support me and our children by taking classes at Christian Leaders Institute. The many things she has learned at CLI helped strengthen and equip our family and our marriage to better transition back to civilian life.

After about a year of college, I have gone back to working in the HVAC field. There I have the opportunity to encourage and support people daily as I go out to their homes. I help them get their HVAC equipment maintained, replaced, or repaired. CLI has helped me see the everyday opportunities to share the light and love of Jesus Christ as I encourage others in my work.

New Direction with Free Ministry Courses Online at CLI

After a couple of years of transitioning back to normal, I feel confident that God is calling me into ministry. I am not sure exactly what that mission will be. However, the free ministry courses at Christan Leaders Institute make all the difference in the world. CLI allows me to study in my free time, grow in my walk with God, lead my family in their walks with God, and also prepare for the next steps God has for me.

After my wife and I receive more free ministry training at CLI, we would love to plant a church or help others plant churches. We feel called to help others, including military and veteran families who are struggling and transitioning.

Ministry Opportunities

Recently, we helped a godly friend and devoted pastor to build an online church. That ministry, over time, transitioned into a prison ministry. Currently, we are looking for the next assignment God has for us since the pastor no longer needs our help. We continue to pray for his ministry as God has blessed him with a full-time position as a pastor in a local church here.

We also served as volunteers at a local church and saw many people come to know Christ and receive baptism, including my younger brother. His salvation has been the greatest reward. I am so blessed to get to see him actively involved in church and his youth group after coming to Christ at the age of 15.
