Call to Chaplaincy Training at CLI
My name is Daphne Estrada, and I am a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. I was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with His Holy Spirit on March 18, 2001, and have been serving Him ever since then. The following is the story of my journey to a call to chaplaincy training at CLI.
As a child growing up in Los Angeles, California, I attended a Catholic elementary school, where I learned that God existed. However, I didn’t have a relationship with Him and never read the Bible. As an adult, I began to cry out to God when I felt that I had nowhere else to turn. I had been suffering through a painful marriage for almost ten years. As I began to cry out to Him, He began to reveal Himself to me. My husband and I separated and eventually divorced.
Saves by God’s Grace
But during this time, my older sister had an experience at a church that radically changed her life. She shared her experience of baptism in water for the remission of her sins and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. She was delivered from years of depression on that day and was suddenly (and still is) on fire for God!
I had already begun to recognize God’s voice. However, I was still involved in some situations that were clearly out of God’s will. I purchased a Bible and began to search for more, and He began to convict me of sin in my life. After about eight months, I finally decided to turn away from those things that were not pleasing to Him and to trust fully in Him. I repented of my sin, was baptized, and filled with His Holy Spirit. This event marked a fantastic new beginning in my life.
My Missionary Call
My sister encouraged me to be faithful in going to Bible study, Sunday school, and church services. She also helped me to seek God in His Word, pray regularly, and pay my tithes and offerings. The Lord began to challenge me to let go of plans that I had for my life and activities that I enjoyed and to seek Him for direction. God revealed that I was called to ministry, although I didn’t know in what capacity. So, I began to attend Bible college in the evenings.
Eventually, through a dream, He revealed that I am “called to be a missionary to many nations.” The Lord supernaturally led me to Youth With A Mission (YWAM). He directed me to be trained and later serve in Perth, Australia. I served with YWAM for a little over seven years. I also spent one year in East Africa and traveled to several other countries for shorter periods.
A New Direction
The Lord led me to leave YWAM and move to Florida to study nursing. However, first, I was to train to be a Certified Nursing Assistant. I obeyed the Lord. Through my obedience in serving in this way, God brought me to my future husband. He was a bus-driver for my first client. Neither one of us was looking for a spouse because we were each believing the Lord would choose one for us in His perfect timing. The Lord revealed His plans, and in faith and obedience to the Lord, we married five months later.
We have been very happily married for over four and a half years. We are serving together as pastors of a small Spanish church in Cocoa, Florida. My husband had been pastoring this congregation for about 19 years before our marriage. I have not yet trained to be a nurse. But, I served at a nursing facility for almost five years. There God led me to start a prayer meeting for the patients and a “Word of the Day” bulletin board with a new scripture posted each day. I had the freedom to talk with and pray with many patients.
My Call to Chaplaincy Training
Recently, the Lord led me to resign and prompted me to study to become a chaplain. I desire to have a job that allows me to minister full-time. He is making way for me to have the credentials to go into hospitals and nursing homes by training to become a chaplain.
I searched for online chaplain training courses and prayed for God’s choice in training, trusting that He would provide the finances needed. After reviewing at least eight other online schools, God confirmed that I am to train through the Christian Leaders Institute. However, not because it is free, but because it is His choice for me. Yet, because it is free, I rejoice that He also provided the finances! Hallelujah!

Bible Courses Free Online at CLI
My name is James Amartei Amarh, and I am taking Bible Courses free online at CLI. The second male child of my family, I was born in Teshie, a suburb of Accra, the capital of Ghana. I spent most of my life in Teshie and some few years in Kotobabi, a suburb of Accra. By the grace of God, I was able to finish college with a certificate of laboratory technician. I worked at Lekma Hospital for close to four years.
Relocation
In 2015, I moved to South Africa. Due to a few challenges, my Christian life became dimmed. However, one faithful day, I discovered that I was losing who God created me to be. So, I started praying and rediscovered myself. Hallelujah! My walk with the Lord was renewed!
In my early kingdom work, I was elected as scripture union president in my second year in high school. Even though the president was supposed to be a final year student, I was chosen as the president. I was also the youth president in my local church in Ghana for several years. Currently, I am submitting to the leadership of a man and woman of God here in South Africa.
My Calling and Discovering CLI for Bible School Courses Free Online
I am called to be an intercessor and revival leader. In this calling, I have been looking for a way to get ministry training because a zeal without knowledge can lead you to a lot of error and destruction. I came across the Christian Leaders Institute on the net and took the fantastic opportunity to start my admissions class.
By the time I finished with the minister way unit, my thinking of ministry had changed. Already with the admissions class, I have learned much to enhance my understanding of ministry. I trust by the time I am done with the other Bible courses free online, my knowledge in ministry will be broadened. Then, I can also help people who are into ministry with no in-depth knowledge.
God bless Ghana, South Africa, Christian Leaders Institute, and all the generous sponsors in Jesus’ mighty name! God’s mercy is all we need!

Prayer Warrior in Training
My name is Debbie Torkelson, and I am receiving prayer warrior training at CLI. I am a 49-year-old wife, mother, daughter, and Corporate Analyst in Southern California. I was an only child who grew up in a small suburban town and found Jesus when I was eight years old in the summer of 1979. It wasn’t until much later in life that I fell in love with Jesus at age 34.
My father is a retired Fire Captain, and my mother is retired from raising me. We casually went to church in my childhood. We fell away from the church, and in my early adult years, I lived very much in the world and almost forgot about Christ.
Therefore, I had to overcome many sins and bad choices from my young adult life: divorce; feminism (it completely corrupted God’s purpose for my life; I had to break free); materialism/idols; shame and guilt; and single motherhood.
Reconnecting with Jesus as a Prayer Warrior in Training
I finally matured and got my life together and was rebaptized on September 11, 2005. I was attending and serving at church regularly. In Southern California, it is hard to find a solid church. There are so many prosperity preaching churches where people show up and go home. It seems like the relationship part with Christ is missing. It’s more about the music, events, and non-offending services. I was here for many years, helping with Hospitality and Greeting. Watching people each week, I could tell something was missing. I found Jesus tugging on my heart about this.
I found and married my Biblical partner, who became my husband on March 22, 2019. Together we both left our prosperity preaching churches. By God’s grace, we found a fantastic Expository Church that teaches Biblical Truth into our lives every week. Now I know the Gospel, the Good News, and I pursue surrendering my life daily to God’s purpose.
Each Spring and Fall, my husband and I take classes separately at our church on Biblical Womanhood and Biblical Manhood. We are growing in Christ together and doing the work to improve our lives, as the Bible intended. In our daily life, we both spend time with God and in our Bibles. We work towards being that example of Biblical Marriage that is needed in the world today.
Future Relocation
This spring 2020, we are relocating out of California. My husband is returning home, and I feel like I am finding my home in Pine River, Minnesota. We have land with a remote cabin. Together, we are going to start a new life and pray God will grow a ministry for us in our new hometown.
We are both planning to join the local church in Pine River, which is expository and getting ready to grow. For this reason, we both felt God’s leading to relocate. When we get there, we plan to settle, to invest in, and grow relationships through Christ in this small town.
Ministry Calling and Prayer Warrior Training
In this new location, I hope to: serve in Women’s Ministry in a small and growing town, serve as Prayer Counselor at my church, and find new ways to develop my walk with Christ and my husband.
I found the Christian Leaders Institute through a friend at work who was taking classes. After our conversation, I checked out CLI. I was impressed from day one, so here I am. I need to learn and study the truth of the Bible to earn certificates. CLI will be coming with me to Minnesota – how cool is that? Anywhere, anytime, CLI and Jesus will be with me on my life journey.
Someday, I hope to mature into a Christian Prayer Counselor to anyone who crosses my path. Also, I am looking to volunteer and spend time in Nursing Homes and Hospice Centers.
