Become an Ordained Minister

Called to Become an Ordained Minister?

My name is Semiko Mapp, and I am called to become an ordained minister. I’m 39 years old and a single mother of beautiful children. I live in Chicago, IL, in the USA. Where I live is a self-reflection walk for me. The people need a deeper faith walk. God has brought me to this place to restore, revitalize, refocus, and know what’s important.

My Journey

My childhood was pretty good. I’m the youngest with two older brothers and one older sister. My family was always involved in the church. My grandmother kept us in the Bible. I remember as a child, my sister and I had to read verses from the Bible. I enjoyed it. However, as I got older, I no longer read the Bible or went to church as much. I became disconnected from the body in Christ.

As the years flew by, I birthed my children and lived in everyday life. Godly things were not part of my life. Then, times got a little rough, and I knew I need to get back in alignment. I joined a church again and received baptism.

My spiritual dream was to be a motivational speaker.  I felt that my story could touch the lives of others. I began to read more, study the Word, and attend church every Sunday. My walk faced many obstacles, but by the grace of God, I was able to overcome.

Faithful God

There was a time I thought I had it all together. I worked at a well-known company. Then one day, I faced the challenge of losing that job and living out of my savings account. At that moment, I realized how much I needed God because He could turn my situation around.

I humbled myself to unmask what I was hiding. God revealed himself to me, and I knew he would restore me. I talked to God and got connected, and I read the Bible.

Become an Ordained Minister

A thought that came across my mind late last year and early this year, “I should become an ordained minister.” I want to have a closer walk with God. So, one day, I did a web search. As I searched, the Christian Leaders Institute came up. I knew CLI had to be from God because this opportunity fell right into my lap.

From that moment, I knew I needed to buckle down and get started. CLI has so many programs to help you with your spiritual walk. Therefore, my hopes are high! God has provided CLI for me. CLI allows me to work my full-time job and study on my own time. And the courses at CLI are also free. My studies at CLI will deepen my faith, increase my personal life, and step up my walk with God. Thank you, CLI!
