Prayer as a Spiritual Discipline

Spiritual disciplines are not easy to prioritize in the world we currently live in. Our fast paced lives and busy schedules can get in the way of our spiritual development. Our Lord desires to have a deeply intimate relationship with children, so how can we pursue this?

Spiritual disciplines are something we much actively choose. As we actively practice them, they bring us under the control of the Holy Spirit and allow us to seek His transformative grace.

One of the foundational disciplines is prayer. Prayer is how we intimately connect with God. It opens up a dialogue and helps us form a deeper relationship with our Creator.
In the Parable of the Persistent Widow (Luke 18:1-8), Jesus commands us to "Always pray and not give up." God is merciful in hearing our prayers. If a crooked judge will do the right thing from being nagged enough, how much more will our Heavenly Father do for us if we are persistent and keep asking in His name?
