Get Ordained in Washington – A Testimony!

My name is Amberly Pettit, and I am from Washington, Pennsylvania. I’m a single mother with a beautiful daughter named Kristianna. I chose her name based on my faith in Jesus Christ; its meaning is “King of Kings, Follower of Christ.”

I believe that this spiritual journey was chosen for me even before I was born. My great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother were all Christians. My mother taught me about the Bible when I was young, and I began to understand the power of the church when, at 12, I taught Bible Vacation School. At 16, I planned to be baptized at an Episcopal Church. However, I didn’t feel a connection there, so I decided to wait, trusting in the Lord’s timing.

As I grew older, my love for the Lord remained, though I gradually stopped attending church services. College and work occupied most of my time, but it was during this period that my life took a significant turn. I entered a relationship with an older man who was involved in drugs and alcohol. Being young and naive, I didn’t recognize the dangers immediately, leading to a series of toxic relationships, especially challenging since I had a young child.

I thought the worst was behind me when I committed my life to God and joined a healing ministry in my local area. But when that ministry closed, my search for a spiritual home led me to various churches. Along this journey, I believed I had found the right partner, but I was mistaken. That relationship left me homeless, without my daughter, addicted to drugs, and living on the streets. I felt disconnected from God and didn’t know how to find my way back.

My lowest point was landing in jail and subsequently entering a recovery program. It was during my recovery that God made His presence felt. He healed my past traumas, mended broken relationships, and relieved me of the guilt and shame that had weighed me down. Most importantly, He helped me overcome personal defects I couldn’t address on my own.

I am continuing this journey with the help of the Christian Leaders Institute. I hope my story will inspire others in their walk with the Lord. I want to be a beacon for other women, to show them that God loves them, healing is possible, and that He never abandons us. God is always waiting, ready to embrace us when we return. My mission is to spread this message and bring healing to the church.
