Get Ordained in Maryland – A Testimony

My name is Dave Hoyle, and I was recently asked by an old high school friend to officiate her wedding. I was honored to be asked, but my immediate reaction was that I did not feel even slightly qualified to officiate a wedding. I was confident that I could stand up there in front of a crowd and read a script, but I did not feel spiritually qualified to preside over such a religious ceremony. The couple wanted a traditional Christian wedding, but I had zero qualifications as a minister. After a lot of prayer and counsel from others, I agreed to officiate the wedding but only with the understanding and commitment that I would be properly ordained by a Christian organization. I was not interested in simply going through the motions to get a rubber stamp on a piece of paper. I needed to feel spiritually qualified and empowered to officiate such a momentous occasion.

I am so grateful that I discovered Christian Leaders Institute and the Christian Wedding Officiant course. It has given me the training and confidence I need to officiate my friend’s wedding. I have learned a lot from this course, and I’m very grateful to all those who put it together. I think this course has been an important step on my journey toward greater service for the Kingdom of God.

A little bit about me: I grew up in a Christian household and always went to church from an early age. I accepted Christ fairly early in life at age 8, but I probably did not truly understand the significance of that until I was a teenager. I married my wife Kate in 2021, and we currently live in Maryland outside of Washington, DC. In my day job, I work as an electronics engineer. I enjoy biking, running, playing the piano, and helping my wife work on DIY projects around our house.
