Introducing the Christian Leaders Institute (CLI) and Christian Leaders Alliance (CLA) path to ordination in Alaska

Are you ready to embark on a meaningful journey of ordination in Alaska? We believe that serving your faith community and officiating sacred ceremonies can bring profound fulfillment and joy to your life. If you’re interested in becoming ordained and exploring ministerial roles in the beautiful state of Alaska, we are here to guide and support you every step of the way.

Get Ordained in Alaska: The ordination process in Alaska to be recognized to officiate weddings is regulated by state law, and we are here to help you navigate it.

According to the Alaska Statutes, Title 25, Chapter 05, Section 25.05.261, individuals who have been ordained or designated as ministers of a religious denomination are authorized to solemnize marriages. This includes those who have obtained ordination through online programs.

As an ordained minister, you have the responsibility of completing the marriage license in the presence of the couple and any necessary witnesses. You will also ensure that the couple acknowledges their intent to marry, creating a sacred and memorable experience for them. After the ceremony, the completed marriage license should be filed with the local marriage licensing authority within a specified timeframe, typically within three days.

Get Ordained in Alaska – A Testimony

My name is Joseph Edward Legg, and I am a Pastor at Church on the Rock in Wasilla, Alaska, USA. I have been involved in multiple ministries over the last 20 years, including the local church and para-church organizations. The USA Joseph Edward Leggis undoubtedly a mission field, especially here in Alaska. Ministry here is deeply rooted in relationships, and it’s easier to involve the entire family.

I grew up attending churches, but it wasn’t until my late teens that I formed a personal relationship with Jesus. As a church pianist/organist since the age of 12, I had been placing a lot of emphasis on works and abilities in my understanding of Christianity. However, when my father passed away after a long battle with cancer and heart disease, my perspective shifted, and I began searching for comfort in different places. It was at a concert hosted by another local church that I first experienced the love of Jesus and realized His desire for a personal relationship with me. This initiated a life-changing journey of entering into a deeper relationship with Him.

My wife and I share a passion for discipling and mentoring men and women. We have a deep love for rural Alaska. Although we currently live and pastor at a larger church in a more developed area, our dream is to plant and pastor a church in a more rural part of Alaska or even establish a camp/retreat center.

I am currently a licensed pastor at my church, but I have been encouraged to pursue ordination. After extensive research, our education staff recommended CLI and CLA as the ideal path for ordination studies.

I am blessed with five children, and my wife Jennifer and I are actively involved in ministry together. We strive to include our entire family in as many ministry-related activities as possible.

As someone who is older and has an extensive resume and education in music, one of the significant challenges I have faced in pursuing further education has been financial constraints. However, with the scholarship opportunity at CLI, my calling to ministry becomes attainable!
