Hello, my name is Joseph Maldonado. I live in the United States, in the Denver/Boulder Colorado area. My goal is to become a Pastor some day and lead my own ministry for Jesus Christ. I grew up in the faith but as a teenager I started trusting in man’s word instead of God’s Word. I put my faith in what so called friends were telling me about God and religion.
I started studying all kinds of worldly religions, basically looking for ways to disprove the bible because I wanted to justify the ungodly lifestyle that I was partaking in. I had a big wake up call when one of my most trusted friends started to discourage the little bit of faith that I still held onto, by trying to convince me that satanism was totally normal and justifiable. This was someone I had trusted and looked for confirmation on many of life matters. I was disappointed but soon realized that God had actually used him to open my eyes to the truth… That I was putting my faith in men instead of trusting in the Lord.
At first I was confused and asked God why he would allow me to grow close to someone who was deceiving me. I realized that it was him using someone to re-affirm his amazing glory and that is what gave me the confirmation I had been searching for my entire life. I now have no doubt of Him, his sacrifice and of His amazing love and message through his Word. I used to have so many doubts but they are all gone now.
My dream is to bring many people to the Lord during these turbulent times that we are in. I want to be used by God to start a revival in this nation and bring as many souls as possible to the Lord. I see myself as an Evangelist. Some of the challenges I’ve noticed are that many Christians in this country are blinded into thinking they are safe from God’s wrath and immune to suffering. There is also much persecution against true Christians that denounce all of the worldly influences due to the so called equality of wicked sinful lifestyles that are condoned in this nation.
My grandmother and father have been huge influences on my faith in Christ. My wife as well in recent years. They are very supportive and share the same essential beliefs in the gospel. Please pray for me to grow strong in the Lord and to cast out all evil spirits that have oppressed me in the past due to my weaknesses that I had fed into for so many years. Please pray that all fleshly and worldly desires are drowned out by God in my spiritual walk with Jesus Christ.
Now that I’ve decided to commit my life to God is when I have faced some of the worst attacks by Satan. I am in need of prayer for me to stay on track with on my journey towards growing to become a servant of the Lord. I currently live in the United States and have been here all of my life. It is an amazing opportunity to be a part of the Christian ministry here in the U.S. There are so many amazing ministries to join with and it is such a blessing to be able to pretty much be open about your faith. Although we are moving towards a time where the Christian faith is under fire and our very foundation is being called “close-minded” and “hateful”, there are many believers still standing for the truth of God’s Word here in the U.S.
I came to know the Lord as a child, maybe around 10 years old. I always attended church with my family but 10 is when I really became aware of who God was and what it meant to be saved. I always believed what I was taught in church about how Jesus died for me, but the Lord began to speak to me as a child and I just knew it was Him. He would help me when I had simple issues by telling me how to solve them, He even told me what I needed to do to see my prayers answered. I remember vividly as a child that my mother was having back pain. While she was asleep the Lord told me to lay my hands on her back and pray for her. In the morning she told everyone about how much better her back felt. What a testimony for a child to experience a miracle right before my eyes! From then on, He continued to speak to me and I had an overwhelming desire to learn of Him and live for Him. My walk continued to grow and even as a young adult I still yearn to learn more and live a life that brings Him glory.
My ministry dream is to reach young adults and women, to teach them about the love of Christ and what it means to live a holy, righteous life before Him. I want to teach children and young adults about purity, Godly relationships, and other life issues that plague the young generation. I want to teach women that Christ’s love is all we need and He longs to be all of the love and acceptance we find ourselves looking for in the wrong places. I have a great desire to see all of God’s people know their worth and identity in Christ and the abundant life God has called us to live. I identify most with being a youth leader and minister to women as that is where my passion lies. Those two groups of people need Jesus more than ever and I want to help them find Him.
I was prompted to pursue christian ministry training as I just began to grow in Christ and became unsatisfied with only going to church and not serving. I am a strong believer that as we learn, we are to teach, a Maya Angelou quote. I know that the Lord hasn’t brought me this far to keep to myself. We are all a part of the great commission to go and preach the gospel to the nations. We have a purpose in whatever area He has placed us in, job, neighborhood, city, etc. and that is to spread Christ. I want to make sure I complete my task in this life and leave this world knowing I have done what the Lord called me to do.
It is also a great honor to be able to do ministry alongside my wonderful mother. She is also a CLI christian ministry training student and pursuing the call on her life to teach the people of God. It is a great experience to have someone so close to me love Jesus with all their heart. It is also great to communicate about Jesus all the time and learn from one another as we delve into biblical studies both individually and together.
You can pray for me in ministry for direction and guidance to the right people and the right time. You can also pray for boldness to continue to step out on faith and trust where the Lord is leading me in my call.

HEAR FROM A CLI GRADUATE
My name is Charles Easterday. I live in the United States of America. Because of little persecution, ministry is not too difficult yet neither is it easy. People are free to seek as they choose, believe as they wish, go to the church they choose or don’t go at all. The problem this creates for the Christian minister is that there is a sense, in the greater populace, of no 
real or absolute truth. With the growth of the New Atheist movement in secular schools of thought and education, ridicule to any form of belief has become the norm in these establishments. This is adding burden to those not grounded in biblical truths and we have seen a great many Christian youth fall away from faith.
I was not raised in a Christian home. At the age of sixteen, I was invited to a youth rally where I was introduced to the salvation message for the first time. I saw love and excitement for Jesus and experienced love and acceptance from people I did not know. This was lacking in my life and in my home so I gave my life to Christ.
Before I can tell you my ministry dream, I have to tell you more of my salvation story. Not many months after my salvation the same people who invited me to the youth rally, and subsequently to their church, invited me to a house party. It was here I was introduced to something new, something else not discussed in my home. Here I was introduced to alcohol, marijuana, and sex. For the next twenty-five years, my life was a complete rollercoaster of one disastrous event after another. I continued to move from one church to another looking for answers to my confusion and pain. Looking back, I thank God that He never let go of me, that the Holy Spirit continued to prod me, but I was not grounded in the basic truths and continued to flounder. I could make a book out of this, but I’ll stop here.
When I stopped looking to man-made religions to answer my problems and looked to God’s Word as my sole guide for my life, with the guidance of a couple godly men (mentors) that were placed in my life, I started to find the peace that Jesus was talking about. I still have struggles like everyone else but I have learned that God is greater than my struggles.
My ministry dream is to help restore the Church to its former glory as a unified body, a bride fit for the marriage to the Lamb of God. A body that cares for and nurtures all its parts. A Church that sells its’ possessions to meet needs, sacrifices time, and materials for unity’s sake. This can only happen when I take the time and invest in people, lifting them up in prayer, teaching biblical basics, establishing foundations for growth and become the change I want to see in others. I know that from here revival fires will burn hotter than ever before. I sincerely believe that such a revival is on the horizon and I want to be in the middle of it. That is why I am seeking a more formal education from CLI’s free ministry school. I have a lot of knowledge but it needs to be cemented together in a usable form. CLI’s free ministry school is an answer to my prayer.
With CLI being a free ministry school, I fill an extremely important part of my ministry dream as I feel it would be nearly impossible to fulfill without it. Though nothing is impossible with God, I need the experience, guidance, training and education that CLI’s free ministry school is offering coupled with the wonderful and supportive mentorship of my church and my Internet mentor and friend. My prayer needs are that I stay focused on God through this process and follow as He guides. That, though my intellect may be stretched and grow with further education, I remain humble and filled with the love of Christ.
