Ministry Training Wisdom
My name is Lisa Jeffery and I am receiving ministry training wisdom at Christian Leaders Institute. I am 37 years old and I live in the USA in Oklahoma. It’s really hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. There are a lot of churches here. I have attended many dominations, none of them seem to fit with me. Many say they are a Christian here but most have no clue what being a Christian really is about. And that’s why I want to know all I can about the Bible and God’s word so I can teach others that just going to church on Sunday is not being and living like a Christian. I was not raised in a Christian family. My mother did read the Bible, but I didn’t believe anything about the Bible at age 15. At age 19, my grand-paw came to live with us and I took care of him. He was 86 when he passed. I was hurt so I went looking for what happened to him? Where did he go? I started reading the Bible. At the age of 20, God had revealed to me how real he is through just reading his word. At age 21, I accepted Jesus as my Savior.
I have longed for more wisdom every day. My dream is to scream the truth to everyone!
I want to let them know that God is a love and a friendship that we have to work on every day. This Connections Class at Christian Leaders Institute is helping me learn how to do this the right way and to have more understanding of God’s Word!! God has put a desire in my heart to share all I know and learn with anyone who will listen. I want everyone to know what true love is and I don’t believe anyone can till they know the love of God. I am a stay at home mom of three kids. I don’t know how or when I will be able to teach the world this love that’s so free to anyone. But I know my God will make a Way. CLI is giving me the opportunity for wisdom I could never afford to do or even think of. Please pray for wisdom and that I always teach the truth!

Great Commission Training
I live in the U.S.A. I don’t believe we as Christians face harsh treatment or persecution from the government. However, we can still feel rejected by our friends, co-workers, and family members. I came to know God through the love and reverence my dad showed for God as I grew up while he served as a pastor at two churches and while teaching at a school during the week. I am receiving Great Commission Training for the ministry.
This class at Christian Leaders Institute has strengthened my walk with God in many ways. Before this class, I realized that I had become a lazy Christian and had not been carrying out God’s work. I was sure I was disappointing him. During the reading topics, I came to understand that we are all called to know God’s Word, to be able to identify false doctrines and that we won’t be able to claim ignorance. In this Great Commission training for ministry, I began to read and study the Bible again for the first time in years. In just over two months, I have read through all the books of the New Testament with the exception of Matthew and Acts. I also challenged myself in the 7 connections through my walk. I now wake up each day with excitement to read and learn the word of God. I have begun to involve my daughter in my Bible reading and she is very interested in learning. My goal is to soon start a Bible study time with the whole family.
The word I would most associate myself with would be Evangelist because I want to spread the gospel, yet at this point, I would say I’m unprepared. I continue to pray and ask you for prayers as well, that God would help me overcome my struggles in sharing the gospel to my family, co-workers and the people I come into contact with every day. I hope that he would someday work through me to bring glory to his name, as I can feel the Holy Spirit transforming my mind, heart, and actions each and every day.
A problem that I would say is not unique to just my geographic location, but I have heard more and more frequently, is that someone is a believer yet they just choose not to go to church or read the Bible. I am trying to figure out how to approach these individuals with love and grace in my response. I see that this is a large problem that plagues our nation.
My mentor and pastor has been very encouraging through this first class at CLI and has answered questions and given me resources to use as I study. Others in the church continue to encourage and help explain passages and applications for my walk with the Lord. One person told me as I searched for books to read, that nothing can replace the daily reading of God’s Holy Word and to ask the Holy Spirit for understanding.
I want to thank CLI for giving me this opportunity and I pray that they will be blessed for walking along with God’s children as we grow and learn in His Word and carry out His Great Commission.

Greetings Everyone! My name is Kyara Kelley. I am 23 years old, and yes I am a Preacher’s Kid. I recently graduated from college with a double degree in Music and Business Administration. I currently own my organization called “Confessions of A Churchgirl.” The mission of the organization is Encouraging the millennial generation to seek God and live out our true purpose on the earth. We do this through christian events, workshops, blogging, mentoring and much more. While that is my 24/7 job, I also am a production assistant at ABC News in NYC from 9-5. While being raised in the church, around age 15, I began to be comfortable with practicing religion and living an ungodly lifestyle. Although I have seen others do the same, I wasn’t able to explain why this was seen as okay except for the excuse of I’m young and everyone does this.
At age 16, I heard a word outside of the church that would change my life forever. I had a dream that I was speaking in front of a whole group of teenagers, and they were getting saved and whatever I had to say was saving their lives. This completely tripped me out. It drove me to ask God what this was about. Since that day I haven’t been the same and have been chasing purpose ever since. He then showed me that we as young people live a ” double life” because we do not understand the value of relationship over religion. A relationship changes you back into who God original called you to be through developing Christ-like qualities in love and honesty. Its a process but relationship is authentic and can reach even the millennial generation when religion can not. Through developing a true relationship with God, he was able to show me that God can naturally change my desires and my heart just because we are in a relationship and then religion begins to make some sense.
Although for most this is a dream job, I am more fulfilled doing what God purposed me to do which is bridge the gap between God and the millennial generation through encouraging and focusing on having a relevant and active relationship with Christ instead of depending on just religion. I would like to use this degree and this training to effectively be the youth minister and youth pastor I know that I am called to be. I have been doing youth ministry since I was 13. Although I haven’t always lived the best Christian life, it was my heart for my generation and the generation after me that God used to place me back on the path of his will for my life. I would like to do youth ministry full time and make my purpose my profession.
By having a scholarship at Christian Leadership Institute, I believe I will be well equipt to minister and teach the gospel to the next generation effectively. The scholarship will allow me to learn the skills need to be a well trained and taught minister. I also believe that the connections made through this alliance of students will aid in my learning and allow for covenant connects and relationship to form that will glorify God through unity and perspective. Although I am young, I am very passionate about youth ministry and reaching a generation that has so much faith where to put that faith to change the game.
