Prison Ministry Call

Prison Ministry Call

My name is Ronald Segar and I have a prison ministry call. I live in San Antonio, Texas with my family. I am involved in a new prison ministry work with the Kairos team in Dilley, Texas. I was adopted as a child. The family that adopted me was a Christian family. I came to the Lord at a young age, but as I got older, I fell away from him. I rededicated my life to the Lord when I was in jail.

My dream as a minister is to do prison work to teach the brothers in prison about the Lord. Finding Christian Leaders Institute has been a real blessing. Doing the classes at Christian Leaders Institute has helped me to grow stronger with the Lord because I am reading the Bible more as I daily walk with the Lord. I guess the title or word I would be inclined to use for myself would be clergy because that’s what they call the pastors in the prison. My coming to the Lord in jail was key to what led me to my prison ministry call.

My studying at Christian Leaders Institute to do prison ministry is a great opportunity for me. I’m 55 years old. I have a loving wife that is disabled. I have a son and daughter-in-law and their three kids that all live with us at this time. So, for me to be able to continue school when I don’t have the funds to do so is amazing. I certainly need the scholarship to continue my studies with CLI. Thank you for your time and for this opportunity to gain more knowledge as I prepare for being a pastor in prison ministry. God bless you!
