Free Training in Ministry Leadership

I am Nana-Banyin Koranteng from Accra, Ghana. I have a degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry from the University of Ghana and am employed as a medical laboratory scientist. It’s a rare privilege to receive this free training in ministry leadership I am getting from Christian Leaders Institute (Learn more about Bible courses and ministry classes online, Click Here). The convenience of being at home with family after a busy day at work and still receiving this very important education in ministry leadership is more than I ever expected. I am grateful to all the committed Christians who have made CLI possible.

My Story

Born in 1981 in a village called Kadewaso in the Eastern Region of Ghana, I grew up with my mother and two other siblings in Labadi, a suburb of Accra. She owned a small pub that sold alcoholic beverages late into the night. After school, we spent most of our time at the pub till late in the night when we went home to sleep. At about the age of 8, I started drinking hard liquor and assisted in selling at the pub.

Although my family attended church services on Sundays, it was not enough to deter me from continuing with my vices. I grew up with a lot of guilt for the vices I indulged in without my mother’s knowledge. Much of the guilt was compounded by child evangelism efforts which threatened children who engaged and continued in vices with judgment and condemnation to hell fire. Blessed with intelligence, I excelled at every level of my basic education and continued through school without much difficulty.

Salvation Journey

When I was 13, my mother gave up her business due to her conviction of how sinful it was. We moved to a different locality, started a new school, and attended a new church. The church was a healing and deliverance church that taught much about the impact of idol worship, ancestral curses, demonology, and unfettered holiness as the only means to experience freedom from the past and present activities of the devil.

I received the Lord Jesus Christ in that church and underwent discipleship training. Many of the teachings of the church evoked fear. They also cast suspicion on Pentecostal/Charismatic churches whiles denouncing all other Christian denominations as under satanic deception. I attended Bible studies during this period and into my secondary school education. However, I fell many times into all kinds of sin. At the time I went to the university, I was deep in alcoholism and fornication.

In 2002, someone invited me to the Lighthouse Chapel International, a charismatic ministry on campus. Therefore, at the age of 21, I rededicated my life to Christ. I grew in the Lord in this ministry and got involved in the work of the ministry from thence. I received some lay ministerial training as a shepherd. Further, I also received the Holy Spirit baptism later in that year after many of my doubts were cleared through the teaching of the Word of God.

My Spiritual Dream

My spiritual dream is to increase my knowledge of the Lord in order to confidently make Him known to all in my sphere of influence. It is a dream that the Lord Himself has fanned into flame all through my life. I always had an earnest desire to know Christ. However, my earlier experiences did not afford me the privilege to meet Him and know Him more. I thank the Lord, who sustained this desire in me. I also want to bring others to this liberating knowledge of the Lord.

Growing up, I became spiritually curious. Those who introduced the gospel to me left me with a lot of guilt as I realized my sin even more in spite of my desire to do right. At one point, I gave up on Christianity and attempted other religious pursuits. However, it was not long before I realized how empty they were. I resisted the message of the gospel doubting its power to save. I got worse and worse until God opened my eyes to how deep I was sinking into the abyss of sin.

Then, I picked up negative cliches which stunted my progress in everything. One day, I slumped and nearly passed out drunk. I literally felt life oozing out of me as people ran to my rescue. When I recovered from that experience, I realized the need to seek the Lord again. He saved me and helped me to resume this journey with Him again.

Free Training in Ministry Leadership at CLI

I am so pleased with the Christian Leaders Institute’s free training in ministry leadership. It will give me the necessary skills to communicate the message of the gospel effectively in order to reach the many friends I met who had similar experiences to mine. I noticed my challenges in my earlier years were that the gospel was not communicated to me well. Therefore, I want to learn how to do that properly and lead many to the knowledge of Christ. I want to assist my Pastor in the leadership and growth of a new church fellowship she started. This training will give me more credibility, competence, and confidence to do that. The fact that it is free and online fits my budget as well as family time as I have preteen boys coming of age and want to spend as much time as I can to help them grow up in the Lord.
