Formal Youth Ministry training

My Road to Christian Leaders Institute

My name is Rebecca Rojas, and I am getting formal youth ministry training at the Christian Leaders Institute (Learn more about Bible courses and ministry classes online, Click Here).

I was born and raised in Texas here in the United States. When I was around 10 years old, I walked to church on Sunday morning because I loved being near God. I learned about the rapture around age 11, and I am eagerly awaiting the Lord’s return ever since.

My Story

My life was not an easy one. I lived in an abusive home all of my life. After starting college for about a year, the abuse became worse. At that time, the Lord directed me to join the military. I served four years and then went to college full-time to become a nurse.

During my time in the military, I married a man with a young son. To become a mother to a son who did not have his own mother in his life was a blessing. After several years of marriage, we had a second son. When our youngest son turned 11, my husband decided to end our marriage of 21 years. God covered me with His Love and His Comfort. He assured me that He would be my provider and protector. So, I raised my younger son alone until he graduated from High School. Then, he joined the military, also by the leading of God.

Called to Minister to the Youth

Throughout my adult life, I was always drawn to work with children at church. I taught in Children’s Church as a Sunday School teacher and also as a Christian Preschool teacher’s assistant. I retired from nursing in 2020 to deal with the many years of abuse in my life through the counseling services available for military veterans. In the last couple of months, I sensed how God is healing the pain from my past. He is also revealing to me who He made me in Christ Jesus.

One morning, during my Bible study time, the Lord placed the desire within me to work with the youth at my church. I was so excited because it was the first time I received His direction to where I am to minister. Before, I worked with children because I care about children. I know firsthand how all children need to feel loved, valued, and cared for.

Formal Youth Ministry Training at CLI

Once the Lord placed that ministry call into my spirit, I wanted formal youth ministry training before and during my ministry service to the youth in my church. Eventually, I would like to get a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry Leadership with an emphasis in Youth Ministry.

I praise the Lord because He allowed me to follow Him all of my life. He allowed me to be married and raise two beautiful sons. Further, He allowed me time for personal healing before giving me my full-time assignment as His Christian Leader in His Kingdom for His Glory! Hallelujah!
