Whole-Person Spiritual Growth Begins with God
Christian spiritual growth begins by understanding who God is and who He created us to be. Throughout the Introduction to Spiritual Growth course, students discover that they are embodied souls made in God’s image, created for relationship with Him and designed to live with purpose, wisdom, and hope. Rather than viewing spiritual growth as simply becoming more religious, this course presents it as God’s ongoing work of restoring every area of life through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
As students explore the biblical story of Creation, Fall, Redemption, Calling, Christian Walk, and Spiritual Destiny, they gain a deeper understanding of God’s plan for humanity and His invitation to lifelong transformation. This biblical perspective provides a strong foundation for personal faith, healthy relationships, faithful service, and confident Christian living.
Growing Through the Christian Walk
Spiritual growth happens as believers learn to walk faithfully with Christ each day. Introduction to Spiritual Growth teaches students practical ways to strengthen their relationship with God through the Eight Elements of a Christian Walk, including Scripture, prayer, worship, confession and repentance, communion, Christian community, service and obedience, and rest and remembrance.
These practices are not presented as religious obligations but as life-giving rhythms that help believers remain rooted in God’s grace while growing in wisdom, spiritual maturity, and Christlike character. As students develop these habits, they become better equipped to follow Christ with faithfulness throughout every season of life.
Faith That Shapes Everyday Life
Growing spiritually affects far more than personal beliefs. As God transforms the heart, He also transforms relationships, decisions, priorities, work, and service to others. Through the Seven Connections of a Walk with God, students discover how spiritual growth influences personal life, family, friendships, church involvement, Kingdom service, and witness to the world.
This whole-person approach helps students understand that Christian formation extends into every part of life. Rather than separating faith from daily responsibilities, believers learn to live with biblical wisdom and Christ-centered purpose wherever God has placed them.
