I recently got back to seeking God and trying to figure out what his purpose is for my life. The online ministry courses for free at CLI are a blessing!
My Journey
I was born at 30 weeks gestation in 1991. The NICU at that time was no where near as advanced as it is now. My parents and the doctors were not positive that I would make it, but I did! A Christian radio show host that my childhood pastor listened to was talking about a child being born that day who would be very sick. But he said not to worry because the baby would make it by the grace of God. My pastor then received a call from someone that my mom knew. This person told him about me, and he rushed up to the hospital to pray over me. I survived and I’m obviously alive and well. Praise God!
Challenges
Growing up, I went to church and always prayed and had a good relationship with God. My pastor told my parents and me every Sunday that he felt that I was going to be a preacher. He continued to say this for the rest of my time at the church. Sadly, my parents divorced when I was 15 years old. I was crushed, and my life changed dramatically. My mom kicked me out of the house when I was 15 to go live with my dad. He and I didn’t get along too well so he quickly kicked me out as well. I lived house to house for most of my high school years. I was filled with hate for everything, and my life was plagued with alcohol and depression.
After high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. I shipped off just five days after I graduated. I strayed away from God for most of my four years of service. After I deployed to Afghanistan, I pretty much gave up my faith. I witnessed a lot of death and tragedy in my eight months there. I didn’t go to church again until four years after I got out of the Marines. My wife and I went to a church called Awaken Church, and we loved it! But sadly, our church disbanded. We did not go to church for another year.

Our lives got chaotic and our marriage almost ended while we were not attending church. We were back to living for the world and not for God. One morning, I woke and heard a voice telling me to get my family into church Now! I felt so convicted about not putting God and my family first. So, I looked up churches in our area and found Christ Church on the Move. We have been there ever since.
Then I started feeling a really strong calling for ministry. After I prayed about it, God made it very clear that this is what he wants for my life. I couldn’t agree more! So, I looked for online ministry courses for free and found Christian Leaders Institute. I look forward to learning more about God and how to be a minister with sound doctrine. My Spiritual Journey
I accepted Christ at a young age and felt called to share His Word with others. As a teenager, I would walk through the halls of my high school, encouraging other students to walk in a way pleasing to God. However, I often felt that I wasn’t as effective in evangelism as I wanted to be. So, I prayed for God to help me learn how to spread His word more effectively. I also asked that He let it be a way I could afford.
Called to be a Life Coach Minister and Study at CLI
Over time, I discovered that I wanted to help others walk in a way that pleased God on a deeper level than just telling them about Him. I wanted to help those that had difficulty walking with Him by guiding them through coaching them. About two years ago, I realized that being a life coach is what God has called me to do. However, I didn’t have the finances to take a training course that costs thousands of dollars. So, I prayed that God would help me with this path as well.
Recently, I enrolled in the Christian Leaders Institute on the path to becoming a Life Coach Minister. I am excited to fulfill this spiritual dream that will equip me to help others walk with God and accomplish what they believe is the purpose God has given them. Thank you, CLI!

My Journey Into Light
I am Sadiq Olawuyi Rasheed, born in Oyo town of Oyo state, Nigeria. I am taking free ministry and Bible courses at the Christian Leaders Institute (Learn more about free online Bible courses, Click Here). CLI will equip me for God’s call to reach others for Christ.
My Upbringing
My parents were Muslims, and so I was trained as a Muslim. They told us that Islam is the only religion that qualifies a man to make it to heaven. So, I did all I could to defend Islam and not listen to anyone who had another opinion regarding the matter. I hated Christianity so much that I always locked up my heart against their view of how to get to heaven. The story got worse when some of the few Christians I accidentally heard said that the only way to heaven is Jesus. Much anger arose in me because it was contrary to Islam. I grew so much hatred for the Christians and wouldn’t want to see any of them coming close to me.
The Good News of Jesus Christ
However, one day, my mother got born again. She introduced her new faith and belief in Christ Jesus to us. I rejected being born again and saw her recent experience with Christ as cooked up stories. I reluctantly disagreed with the simplicity of the gospel. To me, the good news of Christ to forgive all our sins the moment we believe in Him was too good to be considered. How could that be without any requirement of works, as I learned in my former religion?
However, eventually, she led me to Christ, and I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. I agreed in my inner man to be born again. So, I confessed my sins and gave my life to Christ. After this, I expected transformation in the physical because before that time, I was sexually abused. This abuse resulted in porn watching and promiscuity on my part. The more I tried stopping the act without calling Jesus into it, the more difficult it became. It was not until I read from the scripture that God’s grace is sufficient for me, and then I trusted in the Word. Gradually, I experienced the power of God working in me, and I became free from addiction and sins.

Going by what Christ wrought in me, I determined to know Him and the power of His resurrection just as the Apostle Paul wanted. I desired this to be tremendously used by God. So, I joined a local church where Christ forms their doctrine. So, I began to learn about Christ more deeply. I also realized that I am to reach the unsaved with the gospel of Christ. Then, they can be saved and have a thorough understanding of their inheritance in Christ Jesus.
I was sharing Christ with others before coming across the Christian Leaders Institute. Then, I decided to join CLI because I wanted to be equipped for the task ahead. I wanted ministry and Bible courses as I am committed to the ministry of reconciliation. Through the Bible courses and ministry training, I can do it with knowledge and care to not run in vain.
