As of January 2020, Christian Leaders Institute has created over 90 college-level correspondence courses. These college-level correspondence courses can be transferred over to CLI’s Leadership Excellence School (CLI) for you to get low-cost college credentials.

CLI was founded to be the place where the correspondence college classes from CLI would count for college credit. Most people who take free college classes from Christian Leaders Institute do not need or want college credentials. Most come to Christian Leaders Institute for other reasons like discipleship, continuing education, or ordination. Some of you have expressed an interest in getting college credentials.
Getting Accredited
The problem to solve was how to get the free classes from Christian Leaders Institute to become accredited academic work. Offering free college-level classes for credit is somewhat disruptive in the world of education. Many colleges offer the content of their classes online, but to get credit for a completed class takes enrollment and full tuition payment.
Christian Leaders Institute applied for the United States Department of Education accreditation in 2018 with the Association of Biblical Higher Education. Our application was denied because offering free college-level classes to anyone and everyone who signed up did not conform to all 22 standards of accreditation. Our classes were acceptable, but the model of free classes and credentials for everyone was not.
CLI’s Leadership Excellence School launched on January 1, 2019, to assure that all the standards of accredited education were applied to those who took Christian Leaders Institute classes. These standards included such things as Handbook admission procedures and public graduate statistics.
In September 2019, CLI applied for accreditation again with the ABHE as an online correspondence college. In November, the application was accepted. See Letter. Christian Leaders Institute classes have a path to college credit.
