Ministry and biblical training

Hi, everyone! My name is Kimberly Tyre. I am at the Christian Leaders Institute for free online ministry and biblical training (Learn more about studying Bible courses and ministry classes online, Click Here).

My Story

Originally from Orlando, Florida, we moved to Douglasville, Georgia, USA, almost four years ago. We love the season change and less humidity. I am a mom of two biological children and have been blessed with two more girls. I have a total of 12 grandchildren (two are on the way). We are currently raising our 12-year-old granddaughter, 5-year-old grandson, and 6-year-old granddaughter.

In 2011, I graduated from the University of Phoenix with my AA in Criminal Justice. At the time, I had no clue what I was going to do with it. It was a passion I had at the time. Low and behold, God had plans for it!

My Calling and Finding Christian Leaders Institute

To be a Christian Leaders Ministries student where you live is incredible. It’s an answered prayer that was so unexpected. God has been calling me to the ministry for a long time. However, I could not afford it, especially with all of my student loans that are delinquent. I prayed and prayed that if it was God’s will there would be a way somehow, someway. I can’t even remember how I came across Christian Leaders Institute. All I can tell you is that I cried and praised God. My church accepts the ministry and biblical training program and encourages me in following the plans God has for me.

My Spiritual Journey

As a child, my home was not spiritual, so to speak. My parents believed in God, however, most of my learning about God was from my paternal grandmother. She had me at Bible camp, Sunday school, and Wednesday service all summer long. I went to bed hearing my grandmother on her knees praying to God for her grandchildren. I woke up to her studying the Bible with gospel music playing in the background.

When they expelled me from public school, I attended a private school. There, I began to truly know who God was, what faith was, and what salvation meant. In August 1993, I gave my life to Christ on my parent’s living room floor along with my mother. My father rededicated his life at the same time. I remember an overwhelming boost of happiness, feeling different and excited. I was filled and baptized by the Holy Spirit.

Obstacles

The obstacle I faced growing into maturity is that I wanted to do my own things my own way. I fought the conviction of the Holy Spirit for salvation for a long time. I said, “When I get older and I’ve finished doing what I want, I’ll surrender my life to Christ.” God had other plans. The moment my principal and pastor walked into my house to have a chat, I knew I was giving my life to Christ.

I had a struggle with God for some time, not understanding why I went through so many things at a young age. I was molested from the age of four by twin cousins. Therefore, I suffered from a mental illness brought on by the distress of the events and was very angry and hurt. I became a rebellious teenager and tried to commit suicide numerous times as a teenager and as an adult.
I humbled myself to God when I could no longer do things on my own. Jesus was my only hope! He made me stronger each day and miracles were happening. God was merciful, loving, forgiving, and kept His promises!

CLI: Ministry and Biblical Training

My spiritual dream is to disciple others, mentor them along their path, and grow leaders for Christ. I hope to use my Christian Leaders Training to build a ministry within the Juvenile Detention Center. Eventually, I want to build a mentoring center for them for when they are released. To show them that people still care, the dedication they have to God in JDC can now be brought to the streets. God told me that I am to minister to them and they will bring Christ back to the streets.

Free training is so necessary for me because I have no other means of following the calling God has for me without going into further debt. A scholarship for training is so important. Then I will be able to answer my calling and learn more beyond the basics. With CLI, I am able to go further in my education. Thank you!
