Easy Ways to Become a Wedding Officiant Offered on the Web

Trendy Online Ordinations

The easiest way to become a wedding officiant is to get an instant ordination. Most USA states recognize this ordination but some states like Tennessee do not approve of this method of ordination.

There are trendy websites that are not exclusively Christian where you can order easy clergy credentials that are not Christian ministry training-based. For example, there is often very little training on conducting a wedding ceremony or conducting pre-wedding meetings.

Professional Clergy Training and Credentialling Approach

The Christian Leaders approach is a professional clergy credentialing approach that can be easily completed within one month. It also covers four important bases that will credential you as a licensed wedding minister!

  1. Free Training at Christian Leaders Institute – This training covers the subject, Become a Wedding Officiant, with videos, written materials, and quizzes for an official record.
  2. Licensed  Wedding Officiant Credential Program – This minister credential program includes a local endorsement. You must gather at least one endorsement of someone who vouches for your Christian character. A minister’s walk with God is important.
  3. Global Minister Posting –  After you complete this program, the Christian Leaders Alliance will post your name as a Licensed Wedding Officiant.
  4. Official Minister Recognition Credentials – You are invited to order a minister credential program that is right for you, which includes a letter of good standing, a clergy ID card, a Licensed Minister Credential Certificate and more depending on the package you choose.

Join over 3500 credentialed ministers who have received minister credentials.

This is not an instant ordination

These credentialed ministers received Biblical ministry training and a process that recognizes a calling to ministry. We believe that applies even when someone asks you to perform one wedding. This program is also popular for locally ordained church staff members who desire recognized minister credentials. This program is popular for women serving in churches that do not recognize women’s ordination. See this Christian Leaders Alliance Directory link to see others who completed some minister programs.

Over 1300 Christians have been licensed as Christian Wedding Officiants. Becoming a wedding officiant can be in your future too. Most complete this program in less than one month.

What does the ministry training include?

The training includes all aspects of becoming a wedding officiant and more. We asked students to evaluate the ministry training. This is what Tom Miller wrote when asked.

What have you learned in this class specifically that will help you in your ministry calling?

I now have a deeper understanding of God’s plan for marriage.  I have read and even studied the scriptures referenced in this course, but the way they were presented in context to a Godly marriage opened my eyes.  So, I learned the details of procuring a marriage license and my state’s requirements.  I learned about Godly dating relationships.

Further, I learned that the Wedding Officiant is not just performing a wedding but is guiding the couple in a God-honoring marriage. I learned what to look for in our first meeting and the questions to ask about the wedding. Also, I learned that a wedding planner is good. I learned to start the rehearsal in the stage position and the timing of when each step in the process should take place. I learned to make the wedding message personal to the bride and groom through the theme of the wedding contained in the Scripture they chose.  Further, I learned never to embarrass either the bride or groom. I learned everything I need to know to make this a special day for the bride and groom.

What did you like about this course?  I liked the detail included in the course.  It was straight and to the point, providing the exact information I needed.

What Separates this Wedding Officiant Clergy Recognition from the Easy Clergy Credential Websites?

Many Christians ask us to explain the difference between this Christian Leaders Institute and Alliance program and easy clergy credential websites.

  1. This is an academic program that includes lectures, written materials, and quizzes. You will have your grade recorded in your transcript. You must pass a one-credit college-level course in this program. Easy clergy programs are instant and just require minimal or no training.
  2. Easy clergy credential websites are not distinctly Christian with a Christian Statement of Faith. Most easy credential programs are not Christian.
  3. Easy clergy credential websites do not require you to be recommended or prayed over by others. Historically, Christian clergy members welcome God into the mix and received commending and commissioning (praying over) elements.

Endorsement from Rick Miles

My name is Rick Miles. I just celebrated my 40th anniversary with my dear wife, and we have two successful children. We have both been active members in the church since become a wedding officiantaccepting Christ as our Lord in 1984.

To Become a Wedding Officiant

A few months ago, my niece asked me to officiate her wedding ceremony. After researching the state and local laws, I found that I could officiate the ceremony if I was a licensed wedding officiant. I was not comfortable going to an online license mill and simply purchasing a license. This seemed unethical to me and was something I was not willing to do.

My niece and I have been very close over the years, and it was an honor to be asked by her so I did not want to say I couldn’t do this for her. Fortunately, through the Christian Leaders Institute, I was able to “earn” a license and learn how to not only officiate this sacred event, but also the meetings and planning leading up to the ceremony. Now I can officiate my niece’s wedding ceremony with confidence and be a part of that special day with her and her fiancé.

I was very pleased with the online method of instruction in the coursework. The videos were very informative and a copy of the notes from each session was provided. Each session was followed by a formative assessment to ensure that I had learned the desired outcomes. Because the course was self-paced, I felt no pressure to get it done in an unreasonable amount of time.

More for Me to Do

After working in construction for 16 years, I went to college and earned a BS Degree in Workforce Education. I have been a vocational educator in a secondary high school for 24 years after teaching for four years in a juvenile treatment center. I truly believe that these have been God’s mission fields for me.

Since I am nearing retirement, I have been contemplating my future and what ministry God will lead me into next. Not only has the Christian Leaders Institute provided me with the opportunity to become a licensed wedding officiant, but they offer a vast assortment of Christian training programs that can prepare me for the next mission field God has for me.

I have always considered myself to be an ambassador for Christ. So, I want to spend the final chapter of my life in a ministry that meets people where they are and wins souls to Christ. I am confident that I can utilize the courses that the Christian Leaders Institute offers to better prepare me for my next spiritual journey. One area I am currently exploring is the Chaplaincy program.
