Dear Christian Leader,
You may be checking out Christian Leaders Institute because the Holy Spirit is stirring your heart for ministry. You may be wondering how you can acquire the necessary training to be effective in leading or pastoring others into a walk with God. You may be a pastor mentoring a future pastor. You may be wondering if CLI can assist you in raising up another leader. You may be a leader in a denomination or association, and you are looking for training for prospective leaders. Maybe you are interested in elder or leader training. Or you may just want to take a class or two.
Right now I don’t know your situation, but my hope for you is that you will find us to be a blessing in your life.
Let me tell you about a few distinctive characteristics of Christian Leaders Institute.
First, we consider your personal, marriage, and family connection of talking, listening, and responding to God as the foundation of your leadership. You cannot reproduce what you do not know, practice, experience, and are committed to live. We call this home-discipleship. If daily discipleship at home is strong, churches are much more likely to thrive.
Second, CLI seeks to maximize the advantages of home study using the internet as a tool for primary professor-student interaction. At the end of a semester of study, the professors and students assemble for one day per class for personal engagement with the course material and professors. The seminars are video captured and posted on the internet.
Third, we envision CLI working with Christian leaders, reproducing other Christian leaders. We are committed to helping mentors sponsor and support those God has put in their life for ministry training. We are not quite there yet on this characteristic, but we are working toward a day when the mentor of a prospective student calls us first about a student that is being mentored.
Fourth, we are committed to making this a legitimate and effective place to be trained for ministry. Check out our excellent professors, most of whom have actually planted churches.
Christian Leaders Institute started in the fall of 2006 with six accepted students. Entering our third year, we had accepted 82 students, with many more considering our institute.
We are offering scholarships again for 2009. At this time we have funding to provide scholarships for the first 25 students who are accepted before January 12, 2009!
I believe that if we can be very effective at mobilizing leaders and giving them the necessary insights so that they can lead others into a walk with Christ, this country and the world can be won for Christ. I have been in church planting since 1988. The opportunities are everywhere!
We have an excellent faculty. We have experienced home discipleship mentors in place. We have groups of people waiting for trained leaders. We have a wonderful scholarship offer for new students. We have a way for you to get the training you need with limited disruption in your life.
