Some of you may be called to become a pastor, whether vocational or bi-vocational. CLI offers you an opportunity to study at a rate that will work with your busy schedule.
Our goal is to reproduce a Christian Leader steeped in "Bible culture" who will get the essentials (and more) of what is necessary to minister effectively.
Most seminaries prize academics as their first order. CLI believes that essential academic and ministry insights can be transferred without major residency disruption. Most seminaries are an expensive proposition when you consider the expense of tuition and residency whereby students must leave their home network of association for three or four years. CLI believes that students will generally bloom where they are planted. If there is going to be residency disruption, it will be for working with a pastor or mentor in an apprenticeship learning setting at a local church.
While we believe that there is value in traditional seminary education, we believe that fields are ripe unto harvest and that an environment of learning and mentorship like what CLI offers will be an effective contribution in the building of Christ’s Church. We do feel that traditional seminaries and colleges have a role; in fact, all of our faculty have been trained at such institutions. We, however, are convinced that CLI will give you the necessary training for effective leadership in your home and in the church. I pray that we may be a blessing to you if you are called to journey with us on your path to ministry preparedness.
