Ministry Training Obstacles and What to Do about them?
You might be called to pursue ministry training, but have gotten bogged down and now you feel that your ministry training is coming to a halt. What do you do to re-invigorate your ministry training program?
- Renew your ministry training attitude: Think about why you decided to pursue ministry training in the first place. Take an afternoon or a weekend and have a little retreat with God. Open his word and seek to get that flame back.
- Look at your sustainability index: Many times people bite off more than they can chew and in the end they quit. Look honestly at your schedule and develop a workable ministry training program. Find time each day to do a little in your ministry training, or a regular time each week to work on your program for ministry training.
- Get some accountability in your ministry training: Share your program with your mentor, pastor or spouse and ask them to hold you accountable to report on your ministry training.
- Start a group. Teach a class. Ministry training thrives when you are doing something.
- Remember that you are only human. Rome was not built in a day so to speak. Your ministry training program is going to take time. Be patient. If you stop because you get too busy, restart when you can. Don’t get discouraged.
- Find a ministry training program that fits your style. If you don’t thrive reading books, find a program that uses more visual and oral teaching styles.
- Find others to connect to that are also pursuing ministry training.
Remember that there is a lot of spiritual warfare if you pursue ministry training. The evil one does not want another pastor, church planter or Christian leader, engaged in ministry training. Keep yourself close to the Lord and engaged in prayer. God will help you pursue ministry training!
